I am a girl that loves a blow out-- I would have one every other day if possible. Can someone tell me if this service is available at the Spa??

Can you clarify? I tried googling the term "blow out" but there appear to be many urban/slang definitions. Spell it out for us.

I thought I should have clarified....... A blow out (for me!) is getting my hair washed and styled (blown dry) . Blow Out saloons are very big in the NYC area and I LOVE them !!!

my husband performs that service for me! At RM we go the spa where he gives me a complete body wash in one of the showeres, including my hair. You know, sand, lotion, oil, other stuff. Then he dries my hair with a comb and brush. Thats my blow out!

I like yours better !!!!!

FYI, the various urban dictionaries have rather more "interesting" definitions than a shampoo and dry...

Yes, we did expect something kinky, but it sounded quite extreme even for us. Then we thought that she wanted to over eat but that didn't fit in with the spa.

Ha! funny thread. I too am a "Blow Out" girl....fellow NYCer. However, we have been twice and the first time I went I brought all sorts of stuff to do my hair with...rollers, curling iron, straightening iron, etc. I never plugged them in. Become a fan of the chignon. I pretty much wore my hair up all the time as it is SO humid between the weather, the ocean, the pool, the hottub, and the various other hot and steamy! Though I did see a few women with perfectly blown out hair almost all the time....maybe they do give blow outs in the salon. I saw the salon while I was there but never saw anyone in it. I bet they do them but I would say it's not common.
Oh...other beauty tip...get a gel mani- pedi. Normally my reg pedicures last a while but the first trip my polish was coming off at the end of day one. Had a gel pedi this year...perfect. From one beauty lover to another....Have a great time!

Another beauty tip - if you do have a gel manicure or pedicure, be aware that bug spray containing DEET will melt it! Found this out the hard way, gels became sticky and then got covered in fluff, lint etc - disastrous! I now take nitrile medical gloves to wear when applying the stuff, even if I have a regular manicure.

Thanks for the tips-- We can not wait for February.

I have also found that some lubes will remove polish as well....not exactly sure why. Bring a bottle of polish for touch ups!
