Do many poeple do Cancun Trips?

Sounds like very little dancing goes on in the disco...reports seem quiet...although lots of other stuff elsewhere. Do many people do after dinner/evening trips into the Cancun night scene like to Coco Bongo etc.?

During our trip with SDC the dance floor was absolutely packed between approx 11PM and 1:00 AM. The SDC group arranged an evening trip to Coco Bongo one night and the resort was a bit quieter that night but we had no interest in going. We were enjoying the resort too much and only had 5 evenings. Halloween was especially fun because many people wore costumes. Lingerie night was also fun in the Disco.

We've been to the downtown clubs with other couples from the resort before. They are slightly pricey, crowded, and fairly "tame" considering what goes on at Desire.... we kind of giggled at the wet t-shirt contest being held at one of the clubs as the crowd went WILD when a set of boobies popped out!! The cab ride is a tad long as well. That being said, they are a good time and the people watching is fantastic. If for some reason being at the resort has you bored (unlikely), it's definitely a checklist item. If you do go, ask the doorman/bouncer/etc. to go in the club to check it out first. Some clubs are dead early and others are packed. Temptation (TTR) used to do a club tour a few nights a week. Maybe see if they still do that and see if you can meet up with that crowd.

For us the resort has plenty of dancing entertainment for our needs (and we love to dance). The only downfall to the club on premise is the lack of music rotation.... which just means it is time for us to head to the jacuzzi anyway!

Temptation def sells trips to Coco Bongo (maybe nightly). I got the sense that the disco at DP was very quiet? I know everything depends on the crowd and I realize takeovers are a different thing...

Yes, Pearl is much more quiet than DRM in every sense (crowd dependent, of course). The "club" at Pearl is more of a bar/lounge layout more so than a dance club layout. People generally gather there for any nightly entertainment and some people hang out after to dance for a bit. In our experience the disco is most definitely less utilized than at DRM. Most people head to the jacuzzi.
