Out of the water, the beach is nice and sandy. In the water is a different story. Kinda rocky I found with lots of seaweed. Had to go out a ways to find sand again

We love to walk the beach. If we feel like we want to swim in a sandy beach-bottom area, we catch this a little way down the beach .... about a 5 minute walk. The variety is great. The only disadvantage is that I have to wear my scant cover-up/swimwear, while my wife has only her G-string ....... the very clothing that we use when walking.

2 trips under our belt and I can honestly say the beach at the water is crappy. Once you get up under the umbrellas it is very nice.

Thanks for the Replies. Sounds like we walk a bit to the wade in water, but have plenty to do out of the water.

The beach itself is wonderful, deep powdery sand. Entrance into the water is coral and rock, so rough on the feet. We were very glad we brought along water shoes, so the bottom became a non issue for us. The water itself felt divine.....

Wrong.... been to a dozen or more islands in the Caribbean. No, the beach in front of Pearl isn't the best - far from it. But we really enjoyed it, and had no problems with the sea grass, up by the palapas. As I mentioned, the sea bottom is rocky and full of coral, so water shoes are recommended. But the beach itself, while not very big, not very deep, was lovely. We don't travel all the way to the Caribbean to sit at a pool... we can do that at home.

We also been to the islands many times and if you checked out the beach there was like maybe one or two couples there you had to go out 20 feet to pass the seaweed that's y most people stayed at pool we go away to be at beach and for us it wasn't good but if you guys liked it thats all that counts

In our travels we have been at much better beaches and much worse ones too. We swam from the beach everyday when we were there last summer and didn't mind the bottom or the grass. We are happy to be anywhere near a beach especially coming from landlocked Alberta, Canada. We jumped from the pier too just for some fun. Looking forward to hitting the beach again in February.

I agree that the beach...the sand part, is nice/fine. The water has a lot of seaweed and not great for a beach ocean experience, in contrast: the beach and the ocean is great in the Cancun hotel zone and Temptation.
