Newbie Question.... sorry in advance

Hi All,
So my wife and I will be at DP in April. We are not in the lifestyle and not planning on shaking up with anyone, but I would certainly like to be walking around naked, and pretty sure the wife will too. Hopefully some public sex action also if I'm lucky. But the wife is a little freaked out and scared about what to expect. But she will most certainly not be into public pearl necklaces and the sort. Not to be crude, and forgive my ignorance, but is there a lot of public "finishing" everywhere? I mean is semen floating around in the hottub and stuff. Or are people pretty clean about their business. Also if we don't want sex 24/7 are we going to feel out of place. Will people hang out with us, just to "hang out". I want to put the wife at ease, but looking for the truth of how it is there. We are both looking forward to this trip as an adventure but want to be 100% sure on what we are getting ourselves into. I'm 37, wife 35. thanks in advance!

Hello Newbie,
You and your wife will have a great time, it's is both relaxing and exciting. My husband and I had our first visit to RM in December and fell in love with the resort, staff, and all the great people we met. There is absolutely no pressure to do anything you don't want to.
You will see naked people, and people having sex and others just socializing in the hot tub. Desire is what you make it.
Have a great time and let us know what you thought of your Desires experience.

Jackie

OK, I am going to be bobby buzzkill to most but your wife will want to read this.We have been to all three Desire resorts for a total of 11 times. In those trips I have "seen" PDA's about 11 times. It is not a Roman orgy like you may think from reading some of the reviews. Now in full disclosure we are early people, I mean we very rarely go to the hot tub after dinner. we usually head to bed after the disco. My point is tell your wife if you avoid the hot tub late at night you may not even see any sex acts. Also if you go when there are no groups it helps keep the level down. We have found that the hot tub during Happy hour is pretty tame, just good conversation.

I'm sure you have heard the expression " there's honor among thieves", well there is also a great deal of respect among Desireites (ok, I just made that up). My wife is pretty conservative but we have never felt uncomfortable.

I hope this helps. we have only told one person about our trips to Desire and the way I describe it is "It is no where as bad as you think, and better than you can ever imagine."

Goldfish,
The most important ingredient to having a good time at Desire is talking about and understanding your feelings, limits and your expectations. Read the forum topics. They cover almost every imaginable situation, and then some. I will admit, there is not a lot of discussion about cleanliness and sanitation, so here it goes...

Before our first trip last September, my husband and I were very apprehensive. I too, am a bit of a germ freak, and among other things, I worried about cleanliness. This resort (and DRM) is sparkling clean. There are giant, fluffy, fresh towels and plenty of them everywhere. Everybody uses them if they engage in PDS, then discreetly discard them in linen baskets. The staff is everywhere, quietly placing and replacing linens. To show how anal I am about sanitation, if I am wearing a short dress with no panties or naked at the beach and pool, I use a linen napkin, towel or sarong to sit on whether in the restaurants, bar stools, or disco. (for nudists, this is standard etiquette) The beach and pool staff make up your lounge chairs or lounging beds with clean linens and they are yours for the day. If you need new ones for any reason, you have but to ask. If we decide to sit on the concrete edge of the Jacuzzi naked, we put down a beach towel. It is not only sanitary, but it is softer on the butt.
We simply solve our concerns about bodily fluids by not putting our bare asses or private parts against anything but our partner's. And, intercourse in the Jacuzzi and pool is prohibited. That's what the Jacuzzi beds and Playroom are for. We've found that guests are very respectful and very clean themselves. We have never encountered a problem.
We have traveled all over the world (and frequently in the Caribbean) and the rooms, common areas, spa and restaurants are amazingly clean. With the humidity, tropical insects, sand and romantic lifestyle of the guests, we prize cleanliness above all else and Desire will not disappoint. And, if you find any problem, let the staff know immediately and it will be addressed.

Before our first trip, we discussed whether we were comfortable with viewing PDS, having PDS, and/or being part of the sexually charged atmosphere. We decided it would be an adventure and since we were confident in our own skin and had a strong and loving relationship, we decided to go for it. It ended up the best vacation decision we have ever made. We watched a mature couple foundling in the corner of the Jacuzzi and found it so sweet and so loving. We saw a few guests (not a lot) doing body shots at the hot tub and cracking up. (not laughing at them, but laughing with them as they had sexy and harmless fun) You may see occasional oral sex in the Jacuzzi and it can be quite erotic. Nobody gawks, most don't even notice. We found being part of the sensual environment made us feel more romantic toward each other. As we held hands and cuddled in a quiet corner of one of the restaurants, several couples came up to us later to say just how romantic and in love we were and how much they enjoyed watching our loving ways. We actually shocked ourselves when we got daring and made love on one of Jacuzzi beds and found it quite liberating. We left Desire more in love than ever and more sexually attracted to each other. If you think your relationship is hot now, wait until a trip to Desire. It can bring out the "best" in you, and then some (and I mean literally).

If you have a sense of humor, a strong relationship, a taste for adventure, a desire to shed the social correctness of your everyday life and an urge to shed your inhibitions, go to Desire. XL

We were worried as well. We seen plenty of sex at the jacuzzi during the day and night but it's not like you are thinking. It was all couples in the surrounding beds having fun with each other, yes you could watch them but it wasn't like you were in a porn video. Most people we seen were somewhat covered with a towel or so wrapped up in each other you couldn't see or hear much of anything. Don't think it's people just doing the mambo out at pool side. Didn't see that at all. This is a classier crowd from what we witnessed, not a raunch fest. Now, the sin room was a hotter version of the jacuzzi , only because you are much closer to people on a wrap around couch.

For everyone concerned about constant sex, an overwhelming amount of nudity, and jizz flying everywhere, don't go to Sea Mountain Inn in Desert Hot Springs, CA. The guy that owns the place calls it an "upscale Desire." He couldn't be more wrong. The wife woke up from her lounger nap with a couple boning practically right on top of her (rude!); even after three days of being completely naked all of the time, I was asked to take my boxers off while I ate my third fried chicken lunch; and people seem to think its okay to cum wherever they want (including in the pool). Let me be clear - do not cum in close proximity to the hot tub or pool [-X (beds are encouraged - use a towel) unless someone is going to swallow it (not like this :bj , like this  ).
All of that said, Desire is completely different. You can wear clothes whenever and wherever you like, sex is only in designated areas and people are respectful and clean.

The hot tub at Pearl is gigantic. I've never seen one like that in my life at any resort we've ever visited. While there was a lot of activity in the hot tub, most of it was "on" the circular raised portions in the middle where the couple could put on a display of sorts. By far, the most action was seen on the six beds surrounding the hot tub. It was nice to have the sheer curtains you could pull across to give yourself the feeling of privacy. People could still tell what you're up to, but it might make sensitive people "perform" better if they were nervous about being on display in front of a crowd.
