Pearl or RM?

I am trying to book a trip for my wife and I...one year anniversary. For our wedding, we went to Couples Tower Isle. We spend a lot of time on the isle...but kind of stayed to ourselves and didn't go to the pool much.

We like laying on the beach and soaking up the sun. We're not in the 'lifestyle' and don't have any intentions of (but don't judge those that are) We just like laying in the sun with nothing on, but what God gave us....
I've tried to get the gist of how things go, but could somebody give me a quick run down??

1. Are most people completely naked most of the time?
2. Is the beach better/worse at either resort?
3. If there are days that we want to wear our 'bottoms', will we be looked down upon?

Thanks for your input.

xoxo

Welcome to the site Arcouple. Every answer to your questions is already posted in the numerous threads on this board. We highly recommend that you take some time to read the various responses.
Short answers: 1. Not nude in the restaurants, lobby or disco. Optional everywhere else and the majority are nude.
2. Wider beach at RM, bigger pool and hot tub at Pearl. Fantastic staff at both resorts.
3. Wear what you want, when you want. No one judges anyone else.
Go, relax, enjoy the sunshine, the ambiance, the people, the food, etc. And then start budgeting for your return visit in the near future.
Oh, your Headline: Pearl or RM? Overall, we like the Pearl a bit more than RM (larger rooms, larger hot tub, bigger (& quieter) pool). Been to RM several times, love the larger playroom, bigger beach area. Generally the average age is a bit older at the Pearl and if you are celebrating your first anniversary, you probably aren't enjoying significant hair loss yet. But if you aren't interested in mingling with other guests, it probably won't matter about the age of the other guests. Just go and have a wonderful, relaxing vacation.

Thanks for the information. I have been reading a lot of threads here...and I think the more I read, the more I get confused. ;) lol It's hard to keep it all straight so I figured I'd just come out and ask...hey, that's the new 'lazy' way of doing things.

Regarding our ages...I will be 42 in June and she is 32. I was going to ask about the ages too, but I figured a lot of the guests are our age, or older.

Again, thank you for your time!

hi,
we have been to both and love them both. I agree with previous post to check it out other threads and would add,
1. yes Pearl is has guest slightly older however they say that is changing a little over time to a balanced mix. I guess it depends. the crowd changes every week and also depends if there is a take over.
2. at both places, you will see lots of PDA to varying degrees. Also, folks will ask if you are in the life style or do you swing. no problem, no offense. check threads in general discussion under "labels". my take is, it's good to get that out or make general comment. but really, nothing to worry about..
3. we have met some very young folks at Pearl in their twenties. they were swingers but felt that they wanted a more relaxed environment. I think what they found is something like that and they had lots of fun. We have met plenty of folks across the spectrum. one very cool thing about both resorts is if you smile, say hello and you will find yourself in all types of conversations about all sorts of things. you just don't see that at other places. absolutely great.
4. if you are nervous about the whole swinger vs. not, the Jacuzzi starting at 4pm or so is typically the "hook-up" time, say between 4 to 6. that said, its all respectful and if your curious about looking, check it out. remember, slip in a casual, "but we're not in the lifestyle.' you'll be surprised how many others also say, oh, we're not either.
5. FIRST NIGHT SYNDROME - I could write a book about first night syndrome. just anecdotal, but some of those folks who say, we're not whatevers... six hours later back in the Jacuzzi and well...just having fun. its all a continuum. remember pacing yourselves.

anyway, just some small points, have fun and enjoy

arcouple - you will love Pearl! We, like you, just wanted to enjoy the sun on our whole bodies, and have a great vacation, and we aren't in the lifestyle nor have any intentions in that direction either.

To your questions:
1) - the pool, beach, jacuzzi and outside areas are completely clothing optional, and most people are comfortable naked most of the time. The Aphrodite restaurant (casual dining) requires a cover-up or towel and flip-flops; the lobby bar and lobby also require a cover up (during the day - after dinner/ pre-club is quite another matter ;) ); The Pearl restaurant is more formal in dresscode.
2) The beach at RM is wider and larger, but we love the proximity of Pearl to the town and the beach beds are usually not fully occupied especially in the afternoons. Which can make a nice change of pace from the pool or jacuzzi. The jacuzzi at Pearl is huge and super fun in the afternoon / evening, and a great place to meet people... even if it might get a little wild the later it gets
3) No one will look down on you for any choices, clothing or not.. that said, even though it was our first CO experience we felt so comfortable we didn't even reach for our bottoms after the first afternoon!

The rhythm at Pearl is as intense as you want it to be. There's no pressure from anyone to be anything you aren't and your participation is up to you. Our only regret is that we were a bit afraid of making fools of ourselves on the dance floor.. and next time we will definitely be more outgoing and get our dancin' shoes on to the great live bands!

The age ranges at the Pearl range from mid thirties to 70s, but everyone is friendly, and the average age of our weekend was around mid 40s. (Read my trip report and you'll probably get a pretty good feel of what you might expect)

Nice work...you'll love it. We haven't been to RM, but Pearl is our favorite place on earth. Couldn't imagine RM being better. But based on everything we've read, heard, etc, couldn't imagine it being worse either. Don't think you could make a bad choice.

That's kind of where I was...I figured "either one will be fabulous!". Plus, this gives us an excuse to go back, to try the other... ;)

Nice response Brit&Tx. Short footnote:
"1) - the pool, beach, jacuzzi and outside areas are completely clothing optional, and most people are comfortable naked most of the time. The Aphrodite restaurant (casual dining) requires a cover-up or towel and flip-flops; the lobby bar and lobby also require a cover up (during the day)"

Cover up for breakfast and lunch includes any type of net or sheer material you can think of
You do need the flip flops (which they can even provide).
What a place :D
