Hello my fellow hedonists! Its been a few years since we have been there, things have changed for me. I understand there is a new resort.. the Pearl.. no one mentioned this to me, and I talk to CC at least 3 times a week. Please someone tell me all about this new place, where is it? Is it nearby? It looks brand new. I would sure like to go. Its been a long while since I have been in the forums as well. I am back.. a little older, a little bolder and still have a bucket list that needs addressing. Say hello to me, add me to your groups, lets chat and reminisce Have a lovely evening fellow hedonists... I look forward to hearing from you.

Your post is kind of confusing. Yeah, Pearl has been around for a few years now I think. Who is CC? Are they supposed to keep you abreast of new resorts of this type? Sounds like they may have lost your email.

Tell you about the place? Where is it? Huh? This forum is all about the place - just read the threads.

Is it nearby? Nearby to what? It's nearby if you live in Puerto Morelos, not so much if you live in say, Toronto. I'm pretty sure Google knows where it is though. You might want to check with them if you are unsure.

Glad you are back. I know I missed you - and your lovely SO - what was her name again?

I get the reference to hedonists but given the *other* resort with a similar name and a much different vibe, I would suggest another adjective.

Gee I know I have been out of the loop.. but.. okay.. CC works at DMR, I just thought maybe that some of my friends, who have been, might have mentioned another resort to me. That is all. My email has changed, it is totally my fault I am out of the loop. So.. from Puerto Morelos, where is this Pearl? Is it nearby DMR? Is it north or south? Did it used to be another hotel? if so which one? and yes, I do normally get information of all the resorts that cater to this type of customer. Sorry I addressed you all by the proper term, perhaps desirites would be better? Sorry to bring out the sarcasm in you TandD, I surely didn't mean to piss you off. Jaycee - no worries, this forum is usually very helpful and non-judgemental so lets try this again!

First of all CC is just fine and wonderful as ever, as is Africa, Silvia and others. Desire Pearl is in Puerto Morelos just a few miles south of RM and a 20 minute walk north of town square. The property is the former Ceiba del Mar and Pearl has been around for three years now (Wayne correct me one that please). It is just wonderful with a huge pool, awesome hot tub, great service and top notch food. It does have a few less rooms than RM (88 vs 114) but all the rooms are ocean view and quite spacious in comparison. Best to jump on the web and check it out for yourself AND certainly worth a visit if you are making a trip to RM any time soon.

A few changes to RM since you've last been are all captured by doing a search on this forum or once again checking their website......but mainly upgrades to the disco, they've added a swim up bar at the shallow end of the pool and Il Piacere (white restaurant ) is now Sahlo.

Sorry for the snarky response. You didn't piss me off, I was just trying to give a quirky response to what I thought were some quirky questions.

I'll admit, I do find it mildly frustrating when people come on to a forum, which is obviously full of questions and answers about the topic(s), and ask extremely basic questions that they would know if they simply spent some time reading a few threads. It just seems somewhat lazy to me.
