So the wife and I (Mel 35, Ken 37) packed all her lingerie for the theme nights. Our question.... Many of the outfits are either crotchless, cupless, or both. Besides for the fact that she is crazy hot and young, will she stick out wearing these outfits. Or will she blend in with the clothing of others. Also what do the guys typically wear to the theme nights at disco? ...nice pants and dress shirts???

The outfits your wife will be bringing will fit in nicely for the theme nights. There will be other women dressed very similar, and even some with much less on. By the end of the evening there are usually a few with no clothes on at all. Most men usually wear slacks with a nice shirt, and preferably nice dress shoes. Although, there are some that wear sandals or sneakers, which shows very little class. I do echo what has been said in other threads, that men should try a little harder to participate in the theme nights. My wife goes all out for the theme nights, so this year I am going to try and so a better job of dressing the part. It just makes it more fun for everyone!

Participating theme night with nice outfits will only get compliments. Surely there will be other ladies dressing similar to your wife. For men, not as many men dressed to the theme as ladies is a fact, but if you participate it is you who will enjoy the night. I myself will participate more next time I go.

How often do they change around the theme nights?

We are first-timers and kind of wondering the same thing. For the bare as you dare night, do guys wear clothes and then take them off when they get there or do they walk to the theme night naked? I was planning on wearing a faux tux underwear and a bow-tie to the playboy mansion night...is that appropriate or should I go more conservative? Thanks for you input.

The word "conservative" is not often used or practiced at Desire. Less is always best. My wife usually wears what she plans to wear to the disco from the moment we leave our room ...... no need to cover up. Just expect some compliments as you walk to the disco. Desire .......... such a wonderful world!

I doubt any man wearing sandals would or should feel out of place showing up to any entertainment theme night. This comment may give newbies the impression little things like your shoes or clothing labels matter.

The true spirit of either Desire resort is to have fun and be comfortable in your own skin or clothes!

Nice comment!! I'm glad I refrained from replying when the post first happened, deferring to your well-worded and polite reply. I agree with you completely ... I'll proudly stand next to "Classless Traveler" in my pressed button-down shirt, slacks AND black leather sandals any dinner or theme night. However, I do partially agree with "Classless" that if you're looking for clothing attire guidance, one might want to consider "comfort in their own skin" at dinner not being the same sandals worn to the pool and beach earlier that day.

So totally agree. We all are always thrilled to see our SO dressed, or undressed, to "the hilt" for the themes. But we don't have the courage to "participate"ourselves . Its Ok for us... Slacks, resort shirt, etc. ? Stop!!!! Try to get into the spirit. OK. Maybe not the first trip. It's hard for us. (No pun intended). But our ladies and others appreciate the effort to participate. I remember our first trip when I witnessed a lovely woman, maybe about 50ish, who was there with a guy I figured was about 35. He showed up every night in a fantastic costume. Wig. Skin tight shorts! . And he wowed the ALL the ladies. Now...I didn't feel like anyone of those ladies wanted to walze him home, but they ALL adimired that he was ALL IN to entertaining the woman he bought it on!! !!!! For bare as so dare, I bought a skin tight mesh outfit. Took a lot of courage at my age, but others semi-damired /// I felt fine. And when SO stripped with my help, no one cared who I was and what I did or didn't have on.

Apologies to everyone for the lack of class comment, that was not at all the point I was intending to make. I was simply trying to get the male half of the couples out there to put a little more effort into theme nights, including myself. I have been guilty in the past of just being a spectator in the night club and when I actually stepped out of my comfort zone, dressed the part, and participated it made my wife and I's experience much more fun. Yes, I have found that dressing the part helps me to take those steps that otherwise I might not have the nerve to take. Therefore, like I previously stated, I'm going to try even harder this year. It just so happens that I am the shy one and my wife is very outgoing, so I have to push myself and step things up for the both of us, which is a positive thing.

For whatever it means, I agree that choice of clothing or lack thereof is a personal thing as long as dinner attire includes the mandated long slacks for men. For me, my attire is nothing during the day (sheer shorts and T-shirt for lunch), shoes/slacks/polo or button shirt for dinner, and dress shorts/dress sandals or shoes/polo for theme nights. For the latter, I wear the night's color and add some type of theme appropriate accessory such as bow tie, neon light, mask, etc. to compliment my wife's outfit. I do appreciate/admire those men who are more brazen than me to dress "all in" for the themes. My choices are comfortable for me .... the way it should be, and I have not felt out of place or been criticized by others. Just go, don't fret too much about it all if you are a guy, and most of all, HAVE FUN! The pervasive reminder is ....................... IT'S ALL ABOUT THE LADIES and I can hardly wait to see mine and the clothing choices of other ladies. Cheers! I've been that guy. Last year, my wife was dressed in her schoolgirl outfit. I just didn't feel like getting dressed up that night so wore my shorts and sandals. My wife is extremely petite and looks 12 in that outfit. But one guest did make the comment about her being with the janitor. Maybe I should have said that was my costume.

I shrugged it off. I'm there for my wife, she was perfectly fine with everything.

So wear what makes you happy.

We've been looking at outfits for both him and her and we have found that the outfits make my wife extremely sexy, but in the main, outfits for men just look daft rather than sexy. I will, like "Tommer" dress comfortably with small hints of the theme rather than wearing a full outfit. I don't believe people will judge and the night will be sexy because of the personalities of the guests rather than just what they are wearing, or not.

I agree the sexy outfits are mainly about the ladies. When we were in the disco a group of us made ALL the men take off their shirts, so they all had on nice pants and bare sexy chests! It was amazing to watch. I think men look so fab in jeans/pants with no shirt.
