Which Currency to Use?

Hi all

I've had a search around the forums and it appears that the best currency to take to Pearl is US Dollars, that's includes tipping and paying for activities.

Could someone just confirm that I am right taking USD. Also, if there are additional activities that need additional payment, is it OK to use MasterCard to pay for these. The activities I am thinking of, if they are available, are snorkelling and ruins trips.

Thanks all and a great forum and group of people

Yes, cash in US dollars is fine, many people change some to pesos when they arrive in order to get the favorable exchange rate. I haven't done anything there which required pesos, but it can be an advantage as you will get a poor exchange rate at local stores, cabs etc.

If you are from anywhere other than the USA - convert to Pesos since it will save you the double conversion fees and you will get a better exchange rate from your own currency since the Peso is low right now compared to exchanging into USD.
