Pearl v. RM

We went to Pearl last January and had the time of our lives. So much so that we made a pact on the plane home to return next January...stashed away some cash, and we're ready to book! We can't wait, Pearl truly is our favorite place on earth. Then we got to thinking, why not give RM a try this year?

So we're back and forth...why mess around when we know we'll have a blast at Pearl...but why not try RM, we're sure to have just a good a time, and we'll get to experience something a little different. We've done plenty of research and heard plenty of opinions on both sites.

We both are comfortable enough with both resorts to let the other just pick and be OK with it...even thought about flipping a coin.

Just throwing it out there one last time to see if anyone can maybe have any input to push us one way or the other...I don't think we can make a wrong decision, just want to hear what some of you guys may have to say.

Thanks in advance for your responses...

We've been to Pearl twice and honestly loved it both times, but like you, wondered about RM. The couples we've talked to have been about evenly split between preferring one over the other, even though they all say they are both great. We've booked a trip to RM in November with a large group just to try it out, thinking that after that we will know for sure if we prefer one over the other. After reading the posts here I'm guessing we will like both about equally well.

Why not choose both? For the last two years we have split our trip between Pearl and RM. We will also be splitting our trip this year in late June, staying at Pearl for the 1st three nights then moving over to RM for 4 nights. We simply decided that we enjoy both resorts, so the hassle of packing up is worth it for us. The only downside for us is when we meet friends at the first resort that we have to leave.

However, we would probably choose only one resort if we were staying less than a full week. And if you forced us to pick only one resort, we would choose RM, mainly for the late night experience and the staff that we consider our family in Mexico. Not that the staff at Pearl is not excellent, just been to RM many more times. There are no wrong choices here.

We do prefer Pearl because the layout and infrastructure is much better compared with Rome. We have been at Rome only once for a day during our vacations at Pearl and we found that the beach beds are very unconfortable and that The swiming pool area has some type of glass surrounding the beach that act as wind deflectors that make the area around the swiming pool too hot and humid. The Jacuzzi area at Pearl is much nicer than at Rome also. My wife would not trade Pearl for Rome.
I understand that at night time Rome has a lot of activities going on compare to Pearl but that is something that we did not experience.

Thought about that, but we are only there 6 nights, and we don't feel like having to move mid-vacation.

Last month was our first trip to Desire. We picked DRM. Had a blast! Love the staff, the food is superior and the vibe is definitely there at night. We decided to take a day pass to Pearl. I'm glad we did. That's where we are going next time. Why? The rooms are bigger, nicer and all face the beach. The jacuzzi is on the same level as the pool and is much nicer and larger than the jacuzzi area at DRM. Also, at Pearl's jacuzzi area, there is a shower with hot and cold water, unlike DRM which only has cold. Looking at the evening event calendars at both, they were identical. Age wise, we fit better at Pearl. Also, the beach beds at Pearl were the perfect distance from the water. Can't wait to book our trip to Pearl...

P. S. We felt so comfortable at Pearl that after lunch we had our very first PDS anywhere in a jacuzzi bed. It took our love life to a higher level.

Do you mind if we ask your ages? We're mid forties, but I am especially immature...
