Puerto Morelos

Does anyone know if credit cards are commonly accepted by Puerto Morelos merchants, or do they prefer cash, including US currency? We are arriving two weeks from today for our second visit to Desire Pearl!

We visited several bars and restaurants during our visit a few weeks ago. They all accepted our credit card. (Don't forget to let your issuer know you're traveling.) We didn't do any shopping so not sure about that.

My wife and I have gone to Puerto Morales the last two times we've stayed at Pearl. it's any easy walk via the beach and it's a really nice town with great places to swim in the ocean along the way. I've always taken cash (American Dollars) and it's been fine. They give you pesos in change and we used most before leaving Mexico. We've never tried to use credit catds though.

We used cash for purchases (easier to negotiate the best price with cash) and used plastic for our meal out.
