We will be visiting Pearl in August. Are there activities outside of the resort that are within walking distance. If we wanted to explore nearby, what would you suggest?

we returned from Pearl a few weeks ago. If you turn right at the beach you can walk into Puerto Morelos. We had drinks at several bars along the beach. We also ate dinner at El Merkadito twice and it was delicious. We didn't actually go into the town. I know from talking to others that there is a market area for shopping.

Dear Havinfun,

Puerto Morales is a really nice place to go. There are really great beaches off which to swim, much better than the one at Desire; there is a wonderful massage tent along the way (Violetta's) that inexpensive; there are good restraunts in Puerto. We go back to Pearl as opposed to RM partly because of being able to walk to Puerto Morales. We go at least every other day.

How inexpensive is Violetta's, and how good was the massage?

Both my wife and I thought Violetta's massage was great. It was also great to have a massage and walk over to the nice sandy beach and get in the salt water. As I remember, the charge was $60 for both of us. Of course, I left a good tip.
