Corkage fee

My wife and I brought a few bottles of our wine collection in our luggage this past March to Pearl. We took the bottles on two separate occasions to Pearl to have with our dinner. Both times we had to sign off on a corkage fee. I believe it was $15 or $20. Before our trip I referenced the message board and previous wine posts, and I can't recall seing past guests mention a corkage fee.

This didn't stop us from enjoying our wine, but I has a little disappointed. If this is the norm then so be it, Maybe I'll bring another bottle in August. Was just curious to hear some takes from other guests who bring their own wine.

That is the first I've personally ever heard of it.

I've been running the forums for 8 yrs and visiting Desire for 10+ yrs - brought in wine, booze and beer from outside - never heard of or was charged a corkage fee even when the barkeeps hold the items for service to ourselves

Why would they charge corkage? Corkage usually covers use of glasses etc etc, but for goodness sakes, if you're drinking your own wine. you're not drinking theirs, which is saving them money! They should be positively encouraging it!

During our first trip, we read on a menu that you could bring your own wine and be charged a corkage fee. My husband was very excited and is bringing wine for our 2nd trip next week. I guess that is similar to most restaurants - sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. However, I agree that if you are still paying for all inclusive and not drinking - you shouldn't be charged corkage. No worries though, he is just glad to be able to bring our good wine.

I plan to bring another bottle this trip just to see if it happens again. I'll snap a picture of the receipt if they do it again and post it. Can you pack a wine opener? If so, I'll pop it myself before walking in

We are heading out on Friday and are planning a stop at SuperAma (walmart) to buy some wine... but I am very interested in whether we'll have to pay corkage. If we do, we might just skip the stop and stick to the hard stuff!
