Very Newbies going in February

A few things for the veterans out there to help us as we want to be sure we are making the right decision. First off everything sounds great. This will be our first time to a C/O resort and we are not in the lifestyle.

When we travel we like the relaxing atmosphere and don't normally take part in a lot of activities although we have to admit the Jacuzzi sounds interesting. We've never done this type of thing before although my wife and I are madly in love and have been a bit adventurous in the past (we've been with another woman a couple times and she liked that - other guys for her, however, are not on the radar at all so this being a place for couples we'll probably end up just sticking together). We just like the more freeing idea of "without clothing" and being able to cuddle without worry. Some C/O resorts have very strict no touchy touchy rules. That may lead to further activity in public between us and it may not. It may wait until we are back in the room. That one we are going to play by ear. She is fully in charge here as it should be. The thought of other people nearby and perhaps checking us out would be new and comfort levels will need to be checked. We don't need to refresh the passion or find a spark. Bedroom life for us is fantastic. Pushing the envelope in the right environment I think is what we are looking for and we don't know where it will lead.

We have read everywhere that people are very friendly and very polite so to be polite back is all that is required if approached. We are in our 40's and neither of us has seen the inside of a gym in a long while so it would be a surprise if we were approached at all but at least reading on the forum we would know how to handle it. If it was just a woman that would get some thought. Another couple is definitely off the table for at least this trip. We are taking baby steps here.

I guess what I'm asking here is if we mainly hang out at the quiet end of the pool and are not really into the theme nights but can just get totally into each other with perhaps some PDAs as we go and see what happens there are we going to fit in or will we be the proverbial "turd in the punch bowl" and stand out like a couple of sore thumbs?

Thanks so much! This forum is fantastic and we can't wait to go. Last year was the first adult only resort. This year we take it up a notch and who knows for the future!

a polite "were not in the lifestyle" is all you need to say. You wont hurt anyone's feelings.
Hang out where you wish with who you find mutual interest with.
Its truly a no pressure, friendly environment regardless of being in the lifestyle or not.

Clothes, unclothed...no one will take issue with what you chose to do.

No PDA in public view (pool, beach) but you can cuddle and be affectionate.
But head to the jacuzzi area and let things happen naturally. If you feel like you want to play, watch, be watched etc... go for it.

We are not into the gym scene either and both of us are in our 40's. There was no shortage of people that opened the door to us if we wanted to play.

Mingle and have fun. Leave inhibitions at home. Thats why we all travel to a place like Desire to begin with.

As long as you're friendly you won't stand out. Plenty of people go for the alone & romantic atmosphere.

You two really sound like a perfect fit, as far as PDA be discreet and you'll be amazed at what you can get away with! Don't go back to your room, you can do that at home... just Grab a bed at the jacuzzi even if it's during the day, keep a open mind and enjoy your in for a treat.

Totally agree. Our first trip was last year, and we had no issues. Everyone seemed to be outgoing. You will find your concerns will disappear quickly.

We are in the late 40's to 50 and made our first visit to Pearl last Feb-- When we were driving to the resort all I kept saying to myself was "what did I get us into" ! We were taken to our rooms and headed right out to the jacuzzi and had a wonderful time. The trip was the best time just the two of us have had in the 20+ years we have been married. The disco, pool, restaurants, people and the party vibe was amazing. I just booked our flights for this Feb, we arrive Feb 10 !!

I think you'll probably be surprised how much you end up interacting with the people once you get there. My wife and I were pretty shy about interacting with people before our first trip to Desire, and as soon as everybody has their clothes off, it's the friendliest place on earth. You'll love it!

Yeah, what they all said plus this; The jacuzzi is really large at Pearl so you can get in and (usually) still find a "relatively" quiet corner (I know it's a round pool) to ease your way into things.

Like someone else said, you seem to have the right attitude so I'm positive you will be fine. I predict getting into the swing of things won't take as long as you think.

Enjoy your trip.

Also, you will not be alone. We notice many couples that hang at the quiet end of the pool, have meals, and sit in the lobby during the shows at night - no jacuzzi, no disco, no PDS. There are many who just love the sexy vibe that Desire brings. Feel confident that there are others like you, and all other types as well. Have Fun!

You sound like us.... We love the quiet end of the pool and book a room at that end.....every so often we stroll to the party end to take in the sites...then back to our chairs. We love just watching the world go by. We aren't theme night/costume type people although we get that other people love that. To each his/her own. That's what makes Desire a perfect vacation...whatever "floats your boat" goes.....

And how so very Canadian...we can't go away in winter because of our son's hockey schedule!

Thanks to everyone for the advice and support. It has definitely made our minds up and we are going - just need to get it booked. We expect to just let the vacation take us and to go with whatever flow that might be.

I guess the only thing left to know is my wife sleeps like a house fly so when we are booking we'd like to make sure our room is down at the quiet end of the pool away from the jacuzzi. We are definitely going to visit down there but if we aren't staying up to party then some quiet time is good. Which building should we be inquiring about to make sure our rest is peaceful?

Thanks to all and maybe see some of you in February! I'll post our dates when they are confirmed.

Cheers J&D

When you do early check-in through Desire Pearl website (14 days before arrival) in the comment box ask to be placed in a building closer to the dive shack and quiet end of the pool. A "por favor" and "mucho gracias" with your request goes a long way!

"Muchas gracias " would be even better

I also like a guiet, upstairs (no clicking heels above me) room. I requested that on our express check in and we received room 73. Up three or maybe four short flights of stairs but the room was perfect.
