Are We Going to Starve?

Hi Folks.......I know the dress code for men has been beat to death but here's my question. Do I really have to pack an extra bag of slacks and shoes just to get something for dinner? We're not taking this trip for "Fine Dining" and it is "Resort Food" no matter how you serve it. Anyway.....I've spent whole weeks in Jamaica with nothing but a towel wrap and shirt. Will we at least be able to get the buffet in shorts? Thanks so much for your answers.

Visit Aphrodite for dinner-- No issue with shorts there and the food is very good.

The dress code (slacks and shoes) is very lax (at least the times I was there). I wore linen pants and either flip flops or 'deck shoes'. I saw many in jeans and flip flops.


And I wouldn't consider pants and shoes as "fine dinning attire". I don't think wearing long pants at dinner is asking too much.

1 pair of slacks, nice shirt... Why limit your options, don't worry about the shoes...this way you get to choose where you eat !

since the update to Aphrodite, they rotate menus with Pearl, so long pants are not needed to enjoy the fine dinning at Aphrodite.

I think putting on some linen pants and a shirt is a small price to pay for going to dinner with our beautiful ladies dressed in a sexy outfit that she would not dare to wear to a restaurant at home. That is one of the many things I love about Desire. It is not Hedo.

You wont need an attire bag of clothes either. We go for 6 nights and I take 1 or 2 pair of slacks. They are only on at dinner and only for about 90 min (if that)

Thanks a bunch for all your replies folks.......we're not "Life Stylers" just nudist that like to hang and party naked........Anyway, we got bumped from Hidden Beach and booked here instead. We're cool with the "Life Style" crowd and enjoy partying with them.......And to the earlier post Hedo didn't suck we had fun but not our fave. All we want to do is hang out naked have some drinks and meet cool people........hope we haven't blown a bunch of money on the wrong resort for our interests........

You will definitely have fun being naked, drinking and meeting people. However, I think we (guests) pay extra for the sexy/sensuous vibe, which includes the whole spectrum - from just playing with your SO to full on lifestyle "hedonism". if you are not interested in the food, the theme nights, and that part of the vibe, one could argue that you are "wasting" some amount of money. Conceivably, you could go to a nude beach or resort somewhere for less money - although I don't exactly know where that would be. I think maybe the Couples resorts in Jamaica could fit the bill.

Although Desire is much more upscale than Hedonism (from what I understand), if you didn't like Hedonism, there's a chance you won't like Desire either - depending on what it was that you didn't like.

But, since you've already booked, don't judge it before you give it a chance. Even if you *don't* take advantage of the other "perks", you will still have a great vacation.

The difference is attitude as well, dress sharp, feel sharp.
It takes almost nothing to put on a pair of linen pants. We'll never understand the aversion.
