The heating system for the pool was turned on while we were there. This has made a huge difference with the heated end being at least 5C warmer than the other end , even on overcast days and in the rain. People going to Pearl through the Autumn and Winter will really appreciate this.

And the new pool bar roof was completed last Sunday. For three weeks the construction crew worked excruciatingly slowly..... until the resort erected screens so they couldn't see the naked women round the pool. Then the work speed increased ten-fold and got finished in a couple of days. Just reporting the facts...

First of all this is fantastic news as my wife and I are making our first trip to Desire in February and while we haven't been here before we were in Playa Del Carmen last year and the pool was cold, especially in the morning.

For those who still have not grasped the incredibly easy system that we know as Metric - 5° warmer in Celsius is about 9° warmer in Fahrenheit which I think will be significant....

This will make my wife happy for sure.

We are quite pleased that only half the pool is heated, it was quite nice last May to jump into the cool water to cool down a little. Roll on the next visit.

Yes it is. And I expect there'll be a lot of folks gathering round the ocean side of that end, where the warm water comes in!

My wife will be so pleased at this. She is chilled so easy in pools(we have one at our house). I know she will appreciate the added warmth in November.

This is awesome news - we were there last year and, without the heat on, the pool was way too cold to be fun - thanks for the update!
