Beach condition recently and beachwear. DP

First timers here. We have read that the beach at DP is pretty congested with seaweed. We have also read that they are attempting to alleviate some of the problem. What has it been like lately? We will be there in a couple of weeks!!

Also, if we were to take a long walk down the beach what would be "too much" as far as nudity goes on the other parts of the beach? We have been to Orient Beach several times and have worn nothing down the whole beach early in the morning and a very see through cover up during the busiest times of the day. What can we expect here?

Thanks,

J

Orient Beach - one of our favorite places, after Pearl that is! We had no qualms letting it all hang out along the length of Orient. But not so much at Pearl. Once off the resort grounds it didn't feel quite right so the clothes went on. The walk to Puerto Morales is nice though, it's just far enough to stretch the legs a bit and the souvenir shopping was pretty good. Seaweed was awful in August, not sure if it's better now. Seaweed or not, you are going to love Pearl!

I wear a tiny thong / g-string bikini and hubby wears a speedo-type suit when we walk on the beaches in front of the vanilla resorts.

I (Mr.) just got an unlined suit that covers front and back only held together with a "string" from Skinzwear. It is semi opaque when wet. I wonder if it would be too racy for a vanilla beach stroll?

We have walked both directions from the Pearl property. I have worn a sheer pair of shorts, while my gorgeous wife has only worn a G-string. We have had no issues and we have even asked some of the locals if my wife's scant wear was appropriate and they have said it was OK ..... Hmmmm, I think the one life guard who we asked was sporting a large smile and a bulge in his trunks when he answered! :)

I like these responses, I think we need to go for another long stroll on the beach next time and forget the cover-ups! Nothing pleases my husband more than seeing people gawk at me when I'm underdressed on the beach, so what were we thinking?? :(

First issue, seaweed:
We've stayed there Sunday 8, Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 of November. First two days seaweed was under control, water was acceptable clean and sand good for walking. Not bad smell. Tuesday water was extremely dirty, and resort employees couldn't fight against seaweed at beach. Not terrible, but not as pleasant as the first two days.

Second issue, beachwer:
We never pack a swimsuit when go to a C/O place, it's our option!
So, for walking beyond DP beach limits, both my wife and I use to wear waist pareos. You may walk about two thousand feet to the North Admin Change = SOUTH (Puerto Morelos direction) nude, then a cover-up is recomendable. No problems at all!

Isn't Puerto Morelos to the South? Not trying to be a dick here - I just want to make sure I don't set off in the wrong direction.

Yep Puerto Morelos is South of both Desire RM and Pearl - I will correct the post that indicated otherwise - lol
