Desire Resort Forums

We will be at Desire for the first time later this month. Not sure what to expect or how to go about meeting other couples when we get there. We have had some swinging experience (a few times) and found it very exciting for both of us. Any advice for us newbies?

Congrats on the impending trip. We are taking our first trip in March.

As for suggestions for newbies, most replies will suggest you use the search feature. It's good advice. I would also recommend looking at the post trip reports in the forums for the specific resort you are going to. Some very good info can be found there.

Good luck and enjoy. We're ready to get our trip going. Less than three months away.

Read the trip reports for sure! That's a great resource. Also, you could reach out and grab a few podcasts. There's one produced by a couple in OKLAHOMA called The Curious Couple for the Curious Ear that has a 4 part episode documenting their most recent trip to Desire from a week ago. They have quite a bit to share about the resort and their experiences.

Another source for podcasts can be found here http://theaussieswingers.com/. Several topics covered including trip reports from prior Desire visits to both locations. Really great people with sound advice!

I think that if you get involved with some activities at the pool and hang out in the pool you will definitely meet people naturally. As opposed to most vanilla resorts, people are more open and mostly want to interact so just chat people up like you normally would and see what happens. I wouldnt over think it too much. This forum is a HUGE help for newbies like you and like we were. In the end though, once you are there it will surprise you how little there was to worry about.

There are some great lifestyle related podcasts and almost all of them have either recorded from, or recounted a visit to Desire and/or Hedonism. If you go to iTunes, you can find the following:

Believe it or not, I've listened to every single episode of every single one of those podcasts except for a handful of the Life on the Swingset podcast. Traveling for work gives me hours and hours of windshield time in the car. I love being able to learn all about these stories, lessons, and advice. I really believe it's an amazing resource. Some of them have ceased production, but most are still active with regularly scheduled new episodes. There may be others out there (like the Aussie Swingers), but I have not listened to any of them.

I might add, that there are more than one podcasting couple that are members on this forum. There truly is a great deal of crossover appeal between the information posted on this site, and the information shared on the various podcasts out there. If you look hard enough, you could get yourself a pretty tremendous education based on the amount of content online.
