So we love Desire Pearl. Rooms and grounds beat Desire RM in our opinion. The biggest negative for us was that the resort was a little slower paced than Desire RM. We like the late night party and frequently found ourselves one of the last ones up at Pearl We know each week is different but have thought what if we could go at a time where there is maybe more of a party crowd already.

We are hoping this '2nd Annual Sexy, Young & Wild Music Fest' in August from the 9th to the 14th is the answer. The group running it we heard is fun, desirous group. They are bringing in a bunch of dj's which also appeals to us as we love EDM music and just as important, variety in music is always something we wish there was more of at both Desire resorts and Temptation.

So it sounds perfect but we have never been and don't know anyone that has. Hoping it is as good as it sounds. Anyone go to last years music fest? And can provide some thoughts on it? Was it a good party? Good dj's? Etc???

We were there for the SYW music fest last summer. Best. Vacation. Ever. High probability we'll go back for it this year.

Here's the thing, because of the unbelievable seaweed problem last summer, everybody at the resort spent all the daytime hours at the pool. And the place was sold out. So, it was ultra social that entire week. It's questionable, in our minds, whether the vibe could be replicated if the beach were an attractive option...but we're willing to find out.

Oh, the music was great too. Fabulous soundtrack for a week of fun like no other.

Thanks for the info. Hi probability we make it. A couple questions as you are the first ones we have found that has actually been then

- were the dj's edm/house/trance type Djs or just regular Dj's? Or maybe a variety of styles? We get a little tied of the same pitbull songs each trip. One thing we like about Pearl is they take requests but you can only request so much

- have you been other times? Was it a later night party crowd as a result of the music fest / desirous party compared to other times you have been? Slightly younger crowd?

- people keep saying to us, why would you go to Mexico in August? It will be too hot. How bad was it? Was it bearable? We typically don't mind it hot but with so much feedback about how uncomfortable it can be we are now maybe slightly concerned

There were different dj's each day, some days multiple dj's. In general I'd characterize the music as EDM & trance, but salted with some pop & classic rock.

It was our first time at Pearl so I can't compare it to other trips. However, the party never stopped. I don't think we ever got to bed before 2:30 or 3am and we were never the last ones up. Not even close.

Average age was mid 40's. Might have been a few 20-somethings, but 35 to 50ish made up the majority.

Weather was perfect. On the beach in the tropics it never gets unreasonably hot. That was never an issue. Inland would be where the August heat would melt you.

Great week in all respects. Disco full until late each night. Jacuzzi went into the wee hours.

It was a blast. Can't wait to do it again.

We're booked for this time. I didn't realize it was even going on until I saw this post. Those dates are sold out at the resort, and now I know why.

When were were there in Aug 2014, the music was basically forgettable. But this really looks fun!

Great. We actually adjusted our dates slightly to August 10-15 but still mostly during the music fest. Come join the desire pearl August yahoo group (you can find the link in the August roll call) when you decide to officially join the fun. It is a great group on the yahoo group getting to know each other!

Exactly. We haven't been thrilled w the music so this should solve that issue and added bonus will be a great party crowd.

Re sold out, yeah you can only get master suite currently via the resort or most booking sites. But you can get other rooms via the desirous group takeover. So if anyone wants to join the fun then check out those links above.
