My wife and I started a shopping list today that we add to and email back and forth - adding things that we need to remember to bring with us as it pops in our head. Our list is not that long yet but I'm sure it will grow. I thought I would share this list here and see what some of you veterans have on your list. If this is helpful to others, as we add stuff I'll update our list here as well.
Things to take:Silicone based lube
Pool floats
Vitamin V (legal to purchase in Mx without an Rx)
Sunscreen
stuff for theme nights
Bluetooth speaker for room
Scuba regulators and dive computers
Dive logs and C-Cards
Idea/thoughts/considerationsGet Bacardi, Captain and diet coke at airport store before getting in ground transport
Water purification tablets or filter???

Hi there
Bottled water is freely available in your room so purification tablets I would say isn't required.
Re lube, try coconut oil instead. 100% natural and much better than that silicon stuff.
Hope that helps

Cool - scratching silicon lube and purification tabs.
Adding Coconut oil.
Also, adding this to considerations - seems like a good idea - picked it up on another forum: "drink pro-biotic drinks and bio yoghurt to help your stomach before you travel. This has been advised about a month before travel, and continue through the trip if possible."

No need for Captain Morgan, there is plenty of good brands of rum available on site. Ice is made from filtered water so no issues there. Lots of bottled water in your room and coke and diet coke in the free minibar.
Enjoy!

Personally, I think for Rum, Appleton Rum is awesome. I'll take the Appleton all day long, along with the Fireball whiskey that I'm bringing for hot tub shots for anyone that wants some.

Great news on the ice. The Captain and Bacardi is for our room.

Add Baby wipes to your list (for quick clean-up after fun time)
Make sure your sunscreen is biodegradable (for your diving around reefs)
As others have said, you can leave the water purification tablets at home... If anything I would bring a laxative due to all the rich food. My poor hubby (sorry this maybe TMI) has regular bowel movements, but at DRM last year was stopped up and miserable by day 4, and they don't sell stuff to get you going.
Alcohol in all flavors is available at the resort, save your $$ (and baggage space) for other things

Thought I would bump this and see if there are any more ideas. List updated based on previous input:
Things to take:
Coconut oil
Pool floats
Biodegradable Sunscreen (se we don’t pollute the reefs when scuba diving)
stuff for theme nights
Bluetooth speaker for room
Scuba regulators and dive computers
Dive logs and C-Cards
anti-diarrhea medicine
laxative
Baby wipes
hangers
Large cups (Yeti)
Misc cash (approx $60/day for tips)
Misc toys (wabbit....)
Purchase at the Cancun airport:
Bacardi Silver and Captain Morgan for in-room bar
Discarded from list:
Water purification tablets or filter
Vitamin V (could be blood pressure issues-not worth the risk)

We would also suggest bringing so some of bug spray or lotion, something with deet, the good stuff. We've been to Desire when the mosquitos came out at night and other times when we never saw one. Better to be safe.

We bring a citronella candle for our balcony. We're not a big fan of the insulated cups. In the pool we never have a problem parking our drink on the edge. Should we get pool water in it, the bar will refill for free
We bring a bottle of massage oil for time on the beach or jacuzzi beds.
I'm not sure if the dive shop cares much about certification. If u don't have anything with you they look it up online.

An above message said take laxatives. That could ruin a day. Many people experience "traveler's stomach" on vacation. I would take a gummy fiber or two instead of a laxative. JMHO

Great ideas. We'd add:
Vibrators (extra AA batteries)
Assorted adult toys
Extra lube
