Does anyone know if the food has been improved since last summer? The breakfast was fine , the outdoor gril in the afternoon super yummy, but the restaurants were not spectacular.. The lobster was not good at all. I'm not picky just would like to know what to expect when I return in July!!! TIA

We were just there in March and the food was very good, had lobster on three different nights and it was made to order perfectly. We order it "ala parilla, con ajo".....on the grill with garlic butter. The head chef was very active in the Pearl restaurant talking with guests.

Same experience from Feb, food very good at Pearl restaurant and staff wanted you smiling at all costs. Which resort were you at I missed that part in your post? We didn't try Suki but heard good things. Aphrodite was also tasty.

I never go to Mexico with very high expectations for the food. We're New Yorkers and we luckily have no shortage of great food at home and I was very impressed by the quality of food at DP. The service was outstanding, and the food was obviously prepared by talented chefs. The sushi restaurant was lacking in ambiance but excelled in the quality of food and service. We really enjoyed the food at The Pearl although the Mediterranian night was our least favorite and we would likely go for sushi on that night next time. We did not try the lobster, knowing that it's very different type (langostina) than we're used to in the northeast. We're big foodies and we were very happy with the food overall.

I think it is all about expectations. We were very happy with the quality of the food. My personal routine was breakfast ommelette and lunch fajitas. Recommend trying the simple dishes for dinner. We love the soups especially. If you are expecting a world class steak or lobster meal from an all inclusive mexican resort, then you will be disappointed.
