New 'Gastro Bar' at Pearl?

We are arriving at Pearl this Sat for 8 days.
We received an email from the concierge today, and she mentioned that the new Gastro Bar had opened & did we want to make any dinner reservations.
I checked out the website but did not see any mention of a Gastro Bar. Does anyone have any info about it? Location, type of food served, etc?
We generally don't make reservations ahead of time as we like to see which type of cuisine is in each restaurant once we arrive. Plus we generally 'play it by ear' as far as dinner times.
Thanks in advance!

They took the Sushi bar and the martini bar area (above Aphrodite, by the pool) and made it the Gastro bar. It was nearing completion in early September when we were there. Looked like they were going to serve hot food upstairs and perhaps have a "stove" in the bar. The upstairs definitely has a nice view. And with hot food, it may be a bigger draw. I would say, book it and you can cancel the reservation if you are not interested in eating up there.

Thanks Dereknsarah - That's where we figured it was, but it still shows up as 'Jade' on their site.

We arrive Saturday also. We were there in May and nothing was being done at the time. Should be interesting to see for sure.

It would be nice to have a restaurant open past 10pm in a meaningful way, and not just the pizza/hot dog/taco snack table over by the lobby. Hopefully the Gastro Bar has a better variety and quality of food than the Sushi Bar did. Back in April it didn't seem to be a very popular spot. Of course since that's the membership sales room during the morning/lunch it was always being set up/torn down. C & R, have you seen it yet?

Food was great; very intimate setting. I thought the food was better than pearl imho.

We are at Pearl now. They just replaced the Sushi bar above Aphrodite with a new upscale new-age American gastro-fusion-pub fare type of restaurant and it is amazing. Not sure if anyone is familiar with Chef Tyler Florence's Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco, but it's very similar in style and even quality. The food is prepared wonderfully. And the flavors are really amazing. We highly recommend it. You need reservations as there are only 6 or 8 tables up there.

Wife tried the deep fried asparagus, as appatizer, it is the BEST asparagus I have ever tried. Chicken wings was just soso. They served the main course of chicken on a 2 inches thick wood chopping board

It was very intimate, food was very good and plentiful. Had a bunch of tapas and sliders for dinner. Only complaint is it's a title to dark to read the menu so they give you a little flashlight. We also made a resrvation and voila it mysteriously disappeared. No problem we got in.

Its good. Wife and i ate there on our first night. I think it just opened the day before. I classify it as american pub fusion. I got a tuna burger. It was very good. Wife got wings.... not great but okay. It is a fun experience and included so take advantage of it!
