Learning English...

Hello Friends,

We are a couple of Brazilians (57/52)
We will go on our 2nd trip to the DP from the 21 April.
It happens that we are not fluent in English.
We understand something but talking is much more difficult!
We end up getting isolated looking like we are unfriendly...
Which is not true!
Any suggestions are welcome !!

Ri and Si

Kisses

1) Language of love is pretty universal.
2) Try speaking some Portuguese since there are so many people that speak Spanish at the Pearl and there are some similarities.
Smile a lot. Hug a lot of people. Everyone is so friendly that point 1) will take over quickly.

Venham a Desire e fiquem a vontade. Desfrutem. Se alguém quiser ter comunicação com vocês, eles farão seu melhor esforço; de outro jeito, não valia a pena.

Although I speak and understand some English, I am far from being able to say that it is "fluent". My wife speaks no more than 10 words in Shakespeare's language. This has not been an impediment to making good friends, regardless of their nationality. Come to Desire and make yourself at home. Enjoy. If anyone wants to have communication with you, they will do their best; Otherwise, it was not worth it.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi RL!

We will be there when you are and we have found that language comes in many forms...and not just the spoken tongue. Did you know that 87% of what we communicate is non-verbal? We have met/known several Brazilians and enjoyed their company tremendously. You will do just fine!
