Reporting from Pearl

After nearly 20 visits to DRM, we gave Pearl a "try".
After discussing it with many guests who favor one resort over the other, I truly believe that it is a "first contact" experience that makes the greatest impression on a person. Most people who LOVE Pearl, started their Desire Experience there. We just found Pearl to be OK, but it didn't arise to our experiences at DRM.

The service was Excellent! No better/no worse than DRM
The room (OV) was equivalent. No better/no worse than DRM (where we always get DGV).
Food quality was clearly a step down. Lunch buffet was not fresh and not hot.
Arrived at DRM at 3;00 and lunch buffet was hot and fresh.
The new restaurant, Unik, had great service and great presentation, but the food was disappointing (except the fried Brie).

Should be naked in the pool, but thought I'd post.

Our first contact was RM. In fact our first 3 trips were there. I see pros and cons to both resorts but we can't make either a clear winner. We go to whichever resort has the best deal for the time frame we are looking to go and choose that way. Just our perspective.
