Just returned from our 5th Pearl Adventure...great time, as usual...BUT: one night around 12:30 a.m. we had worked up some hunger pains so we walked over Lobby taco stand---only to find nobody staffing it and a large racoon up on the table eating out of the various metal containers with the meat, cheese, salsa, etc. We walked inside to tell the guy tending the lobby bar, he walked out with us and the animal had returned, and once again up on the table dining to his little heart's content. The waiter didn't seem all that alarmed---but told us we could order from inside the Pearl restaurant, which we did: two chicken tacos.
No effort to either have someone staff the taco area or to cover up the food. As we ate our tacos, another couple walked up for some outdoor tacos...bartender had gone inside, nobody staffing the taco area once again--we warned them of the dining raccoon!
We had the exact same thing happen on our last visit...only a cat.
Yes, we gave feedback to the management when we checked out.
Fair warning to all those late night diners---if the food at the lobby food stand is not covered, safe to assume you're sharing it with a local animal!
Sad that this happened twice...Pearl is go great otherwise.
