Some resorts, yes some no. What is customary for tipping at Desire Pearl?

There are lots of discussions about this ranging from “I don’t tip” to “I tip at every meal” and everything in between. Personally we tip at every meal and bigger, less frequent tips for the bartenders (as a convenience to us) and to the guys who arrange for your chairs around the pool. We also tip the bell staff. But it is a personal decision that will not really affect your stay. Our opinion is they work hard and deserve to be rewarded.

Fellow North Texan here - we bring a $5 or $10 and put it in the tip jar at the beginning of the day for drinks at the pool bar. Then we will drop a few bucks for the Jacuzzi bar and lobby bar. For dinner, we will usually tip about $5 or $10 and then for breakfast and lunch about $5. We are members and always have butlers, we usually tip them $20 at the beginning of the trip then $5 or $10 a few times throughout and $20 when we leave. Don't forget to tip the entertainment staff also and the towel guy - G we usually tip him $20 at the beginning of our tip to get our chair, palapa and beach bed.
