Maybe we've just been lucky but we've never seen any of this sort of drama (or any other) while at Desire.
Explorer79, thank you for reading and replying like a rational human being. I hear you and you make sense. It's refreshing to see someone actually understanding what's being said instead of not reading anything and calling me "clueless" for no reason.
We've been to Desire many, many times and were there just 2 months ago. This thread is the only time I've heard about stickers. They were never mentioned when we checked in and we never saw any on our last visit. Forgive my ignorance, but everyone's trip is different, so it may have been an oversight on our last visit. Regardless, the stickers are a completely irrelevant factor in what we witnessed.
In the last two trips, we've witnessed Desire security checking 4 couples' phones. One was a woman who was taking a photo of her spouse standing in the ocean. It was past 4 pm and there was no one else in the ocean. Security came up to her to check her phone. We were on the beach next to her during this occurrence. Later, she told us it was because someone on a beach bed said that she could have had her camera in selfie mode and been taking pictures behind her. Another couple who we spoke to had security come to their room to check their phones because they were accused of taking pictures of people off their penthouse balcony, instead of the sunset. While we were at the pool one morning, a guy was laying on his side, reading his kindle. Someone called security on him to make sure he wasn't videoing people sitting at the bar. Others can say what they want about it not being ego, but it's impossible to believe that these instances weren't both paranoia and ego driven.
The fact that the overly sensitive are getting catered to by accusing and inconveniencing others is ridiculous. The paranoia is affecting Desire and it's a shame that that's happening. The list I posted earlier about reasons to rest easy was actually created while at Desire. A group of us were so fed up with what was happening, it was discussed how egotistical it was for so many people to legitimately think that others came to this paradise just to take photos of them. The accusers were the minority and the majority found it to be an inconveniencing joke. Apparently, the opinion on this forum is the opposite.
To those who think I'm wrong to voice out against those who call security multiple times a day to check people's phones, I'm not. You are in the minority here. Wait until you get to Desire. It isn't funny when you see it ruining an innocent person's day. Encouraging all this paranoia is going to be to the resort's detriment. Although my first post may have come off harsh, it was my way of simply saying... lighten up. It's a vacation, you're naked and having fun, no one cares what you're doing - absolutely no one. The odds of someone coming there to take your picture is so astronomically low that it's a shame you're even wasting your time thinking about it.
