Also do you have to wear those tacky wrist bands all the time?

Thanks!

There is night (and day) security at the beach, and across the resort. They indeed most likely will ask you to get out of the ocean for your own safety. It can be pretty dark out there at night.
You will have to wear the wrist band all the time during your stay. If you don't like to have the band around your wrist, you may ask to have it around your ankle.

The bracelets aren’t the tacky plastic ones like at regular resorts. They are actually very nice corded bracelets with a plastic logo. They look pretty good until they start to fade or get cloudy from sunscreen. But it’s time to go home then anyway.

I'm still currently wearing my bracelet from last May.

I decided to see how long it would last. I thought "surely it won't last till our next trip".

I'm 10 1/2 months in, and it looks as if it's going to make it! My wife says she doesn't wanna be around me when we walk into the lobby and I'm making a big deal about still having my old one on. lol

I like the wooden ones they used to do, but they would break down the middle and have to be replaced half way through the trip. I think though last time we went in July they were still wooden for members but plastic for non members. And I agree they are pretty nice.

The resort and area are fine. I’m not sure what is causing your worry. If it is the bracelets, they are there to identify you as belonging on Pearl’s property. If that’s not the concern, please be more specific.

Agreed, both resorts have uniformed security standing on the beach all night (or as late as we've been there). If you belong at Desire, they leave you alone. If you don't belong, they make sure you move along and don't bother anyone. I'm not sure what you're hearing that's causing your concern, but I've never had any anxiety about being on a Desire property.

In terms of safety, I would say that we have been to Pearl more than 20 times and we have NEVER felt unsafe. Maybe a little 'out-of-control' at times, but never unsafe...

We walk to town every day after breakfast and wander the pool and hot tub area late at night and never felt unsafe at any time. We were wondering if it there was going to be a difference compared to our previous year's visits based on the recent news, but found it to be the same.

Hi guys! My husband and I are coming for our very first time in June and we're super excited, but also nervous. What's this talk about a bracelet? Does everyone get one? Members and Non members? Just curious. Thanks!

Everyone gets one. Different one for members. Allows security to know who belongs there.

@C_and_A - in addition to the security use Mike notes, we noticed that in the last year, first time visitors were getting a different color bracelet. A pale yellow if I remember right vs. the white for non-member returning visitors. You mentioned being excited and nervous - the "yellow" bracelet lets the staff and other guests be sure to go out of their way to make you feel 200% welcome and comfortable. That said, if you don't want to be "marked" as new, just ask for the "regular" color. We met some first timers on our last trip that did that.

Bottom line - this is an amazing place where everyone - staff and other guests - want everybody there to have a fantastic time on their own terms and really go the extra mile to make that happen. You guys will have a blast.
