Hi. We arrive at Pearl this Friday morning but I notice the weather forecast shows nothing but thunderstorms. Anybody there now who can tell us what the conditions are like? are people still allowed in the spa even if the skies are dark or thundering? Should I still bring my metal condoms? (kiddddddding)

We have noticed that although the forecast shows thunderstorms, it might be offshore, or last for like 30 mins and its sunny again. If there lightning strikes in the area, yes, head indoors.

Get use to that forecast. You will likely see it everyday. Very seldom will you ever actually see rain while you are there. When you do its usually quick this time of year

We were at Pearl May 9-17. The forecast was ify for use as well. We had 3 or 4 good sunny days, 2 morning and afternoon rain showers, we kept the beach volley ball going in one, no lightning though. Also had two late afternoon showers, the Jacuzzi gets cleared fast when there is thunder and lightning, 20 min rule to jump back in. You'll enjoy yourself.

I've been getting regular texts from people there the past few days (we arrive tomorrow AM), and even though the forecast has been crappy, it's been short burst type storms and sun and clouds in between. It doesn't seem likely we'll have a full wash-out.

The bigger issue is the beach. Apparently with the storms and tides, the seaweed is WAY bad right now... Worse than normal. And the beach is littered with debris.

We're beach people, so that sort of sucks. :|

Nope, not a hurricane - maybe a tropical storm moving thru
