Early Checkin Pearl

I see a option for advanced or early check in on line at the desire site if done 15 days prior to arrival. Can anyone tell me the advantage of doing this. I thought I may try it on this trip.

Saves time at registration and allows you to put in requests for certain buildings or rooms

If not area code, I’d leave it blank. Or is it the first 3 after area code? I have about 90 days till I can do it again
