Yet another age and general noob questions.... Be gentle :)

Hi everyone,

We are new here. We are new to the lifestyle. Well, we haven't even figured out if we are even in the lifestyle or not yet  We have toyed with the idea for a while and thought we may come along to see what the fuss is about.

Now I read a post earlier from an early 20's couple. They were worried about age. The general consensus was that they might find themselves a tad out of place, in the nicest way possible.

We are 28 and 30. We have no preference to what age group we are attracted to. The same for socialising. I have read on some threads that Pearl has a slightly more mature crowd and Riviera has a slightly younger crowd.

So my question is this. Will we fit in OK? Will we be the odd ones out? We plan on staying at another hotel for 5 days and Pearl for 2 somewhere in the middle in case it's not for us, which I think it will be. Do you think it would maybe be best to stay at the weekend?

Also, has this music issue been resolved?

Is there any tips that you have for youngish pups like us  and nervous, first timers at that?

Thanks :)

I’d stay longer at Pearl. Gives you time to settle in and truly enjoy.

We have met and socialized with people from their 20’s to their 80’s. It’s more about the person than the age to us.

It is generally busier on weekends but every day there is a good day IMHO

You’ll fit in fine. Relax and go have fun.

Mike

You won't be the odd ones out. You will most likely be one of the youngest there, although there may be others, but really it won't matter unless it matters to you. We've hung out with couples that are younger than you and they blended in just fine, same as everyone else. RM may be the better choice for this but that's just my subjective opinion.

My guess is that at the end of it you'll wish the 5/2 balance was tilted the other way. With only 2 days at Desire you won't really have time to get the full experience and worse you might feel self pressure which would be counter productive (it's highly unlikely you'll be pressured by others). Our first trip was 5 days, 4 would've been Ok, 3 would've been not enough and we did shortcut things a bit. I could've easily seen the lightbulb not going off until day 3. Even if you are ones to dive in the deep end immediately, and love it, then 2 days really might not be enough :D

On the DJ, I would say it is a rough one. My wife and I like current dance music, and can't stand the 70's & 80's. We've seen posts on here that the DJ was awesome when he played 70's-2000's. Honestly, the age range is so wide at Pearl that I think the guy can't win. We walk out when YMCA comes on, and others walk out when Shake that Ass comes on. I am not saying the DJ is good (he typically can't read the crown for anything) but the music expectations are very wide.

In the end, whatever the music is, the crowd makes the entire resort (pool, club, Jacuzzi). We've been there 20+ times and some trips are absolutely amazing, and others are totally great. Never bad...

We love the DJ at RM.

As far as age the only time it seems to be an issue is when a young hot couple is at Desire and is expecting the resort to be filled with other young hot couples and instead it is filled with fun, nice people that are closer to their parents age.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

We definitely don't expect it to be full of ripped and young people, we wouldn't even consider ourselves like that. There could be the most attractive supermodel couple in the world there but if we thought they were aloof or that they were better than anyone else we would have no interest in meeting them.

I think from what I have read we are going to go for DM, it will just mean mixing rooms for the 2 nights to get in as there is not straight through availability.

Excited and her pus but..... You only live once I suppose!

Hi,

Sorry another quick question, we were planning on going on a Sunday and Monday night, are the theme nights compulsory? One is lingerie night and I'm not sure how my wife will be strutting around in lingerie on her first night haha. She's pretty open minded but again, I don't want her to feel under pressure to do something she is not quite comfortable with yet, it might put her off a bit.

Thanks!

No, theme nights are in no way compulsory. We tried to do all of them on our first couple trips but not so much now and it doesn't matter either way. There will be plenty of people not in theme so you will not stick out (so to speak).

We've always found Sunday to be a chill day at Pearl. If at all possible, you may want to try to get the foam party in on Saturday! Great ice breaker, since your window is so short. Not to mention a much better Vibe at night too.

With your attitude you guys will have a great time. Don't be shy, make sure you open up and chat with people. Everyone there will be open to making new friends.

If you can go on Friday Saturday might be a few more people.

Our first few years we also did all the themes. Now we just pick a couple themes to dress up for and dress in nice club cloths the rest of the time.

I had the same concern about my wife’s comfort level for lingerie night as well.luckily, It happened to fall on our last and seventh night so she was totally comfortable after being naked for a whole week. We got dressed in regular club clothes for dinner that night and my wife noticed a very well dressed lady who wore a taylored, long double breasted sport jacket to dinner at Pearl on lingerie night. This lady had a great corset/ lingerie outfi under her jacket that was as long as a mini skirt as well as thigh highs and heels. The whole fitted sport jacket/ thigh highs look was incredibly HOT and comfortable enough to wear to dinner then shed the jacket at will in the club for theme night. My wife said she will definitely go for that look next trip and it might be a way to ease YOUR wife into being out in lingerie if she’s into it?

My wife and I are on our third trip there at the end of this month. I'm 65 and she is 52 .The only problem you might have with the "older group" is keeping up .Everyone is there to have fun in their own way and comfort level . I have never been asked, have asked,or heard anyone asked, how old they were .If your there, your there for a reason .Usually to have fun . Everyone does that with respect in whatever capacity they like. If you want no contact you can go to the opposite pool and be alone . We like pearl because it is couples ,that are for the most part, there to be with each other , and socialize with people from all over the globe . Everything else you experience is icing on the cake . My wife was skeptical at first ,but once you are there she will acclimate quickly . We both dress for theme nights because we do it all together .Lingerie night is for the women to shine. My wife likes the compliments from both women and men . I like it for obvious reasons. If you get bored with the music go to the playroom or hot tub and create your own excitement . All of the nights we were there ,there were great shows or contests between all the guests before the dancing starts . Never a dull moment .
I do warn you ,once bitten by the DP bug , you will never look at vacations the same again . Maybe we will see you there .
