hi. as newbies to Desire resorts, two quick questions:

1. what is the demographics of DP? I understand the majority of the guests will be from USA, but are there many guests from Europe too? We are from Southern Europe ourselves. The reason I ask is it is always much more interesting and enlightening to meet the people from different countries.

2. What is the situation with smoking (and finding) weed in DP ? When we were at Hedo a couple of years ago, it was everywhere in the resort. The guests were openly smoking the weed pretty much anywhere, and the hotel staff was helping to find it.

The demographics tend to be in the mid thirties on up and as far as I can tell mid 40s is average. But it varies week to week.
As far as weed (or other recreational drugs) is concerned it is strictly forbidden on desire properties. And they state they will remove you from the resort if you are using it without refund. There have been other threads on this as well but from what I gather it is zero tolerance due to local laws.

Here's a ranked list of the top 15 countries of forum visitors(by percentage) from yesterday and also a long term distribution chart of forum visitors which closely matches general attendance at the Desire properties - of course it always depends on the specific time period when you are there.

Mexico is not like Jamaica - Mexico has a zero tolerance policy for any type of drug use including weed. All Mexican resorts/hotels(including the Desire properties) follow the same policy, if you are caught using while on resort property your vacation is over - you will be ejected from the resort and there will be no refund.

Frankly the drugs of choice at the Desire properties are Viagra and Cialis - both allowed and no prescription required

Yes Viagra/Cialis can be purchased in the Desire gift shops - quite expensive there however, can be purchase in Cancun much cheaper(Walmart, etc)
