Never mind. Just found out it is and in pretty bad condition. Sounds like the beach is disappearing.

Now that sounds grim! Anyone have any input? Is it just the seaweed or is the beach eroding????

What I heard but haven’t seen is it is structural. Can’t specify more than that. Will be there in 5 days and will see what I can find out

The ownership should really fix up the pier, its an asset to the complex. If only they would make a swimming deck out at the end with a latter going in the water, if will be great. Thiers no seaweed out their and the water is very nice, plus you can take some nice sexy pictures at sunset. They need to spend the $$$.

I agree!! We have gone swimming off the pier and it's a pain in the ass to climb back onto it. The water is pretty deep off of the pier and no seaweed or junk in your way to actually swim around and have fun in crystal clear water (depending on storms, etc).
Looking for fun in our travels :)

From what I can see, the center support running from beach out to end has “sunk” in a section. There are no more doors and the walkway is just gone for 20+ feet. When I asked about this at check in, I was told the pier is fine.

So I’m guessing that at least a few pylons plus a center support will be needed to be replaced in order to fix it.

The good news is they started replacing pylons today. No idea how long the work will take but at least it is being addressed.

Not really the beach ends at the stairs to the lifeguard stand and there is about a 2 foot drop off in some spots.

The pier is definitely open. A couple we met were getting a massage on the end of the pier on our last day. By our 3rd day at Pearl the seaweed was also pretty much non existent. Guess we got lucky twice.
