We just returned from another great trip, this time celebrating NYE at Pearl, which was awesome!! However, we’re sad to say that Rudy has finally left Desire altogether. On so many occasions Rudy made amazing things happen for us. Always working so hard to make our stays amazing and going above and beyond.

This trip Carlos really stepped up to keep things moving. He was great. Also, Irving (from the pool area) was promoted into Rudy’s spot. While we didn’t have him as our butler this trip, he was ready and eager to help however he could.

Rudy will certainly be missed! Good for Irving though, I'm sure he'll do great.

We stayed at Pearl just after Thanksgiving, but we went to DRM for a day for their foam party. Rudy was actually working at RM as a butler. I don't know if he still is there, but we check into RM on January 19th and we will find out. Rudy was always fantastic as a butler, and before that, around the pool. Carlos has always been great as well.

That is awesome news! THat may make us try Riviera Maya again! Would be great to know if he is there during the January trip mentioned above.

Also, we learned that Alesio (GM) is now responsible for both DRM & DP. While not the most outgoing, he runs a very service-minded business.

Irving was our Butler in November , he did an outstanding job! Hope we get him in March. We love breaking in the newbies, as in Butlers

If you are a member, you get a butler. Also, if you stay in one of the Penthouse suites you get a butler.

We have our butler arrange to have capucinos, mimosas, & pastries in the mornings and then in the evening after the hot tub we have them bring a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers to snack on before dinner while getting ready. They also will take care of making reservations for dinner for you and pretty much anything else you need.

and to add, when you forget to make dinner reservations after drinking too much ,and you want to eat somewhere other than Aphrodite, or you want to increase your party size last minute, that's where your Butler can pay big dividends .

True - we forgot the make reservations one night at Pearl for French night so we called and were told it nothing was available. We then called Irving and he got us a table at the time we wanted.

G is indeed still a butler at RM. We saw him for the last two weeks. He is doing great over there. Also, Mia works in the office at RM, but seemed to be transitioning into another role, because she was the emcee for the nightly entertainment the last night we were there, even though she isn't on the entertainment staff.

A couple of years back we did a scuba trip and were completely wiped out for the next day or two... The butler, stopping by with room service for you, going and getting your choice beverage, etc while you stay and relax on the patio... absolutely worth it. It's something you think is no big deal till you've had one!

Just to bring this back forward. I corresponded with Rudy the butler & he has left Desire altogether. He is at a new resort and is doing well.

Says he misses the fun of Desire, but made the right move for himself.
