First Timers, but non lifestyle

Hi, we're thinking of making our first trip to DP.

We went to Club Orient in St. Martin for the last decade, but since the hurricane last year that's no longer an option.

We're a fit 50'ish couple, but we're more interested in clothing optional than lifestyle holidays.

Would we fit in? Also, my wife is vegetarian - how is the food?

Thanks.

You’ll fit in fine. In prior posts I’ve read that vegan is not an issue but personally never looked for it.

You will easily fit in. There really is no judgment at Desire Pearl. We saw that on our first trip in March. Going back again in July. Just a lot of good people there to have a good time. You can read what we wrote on our trip report Can’t tell you much about the vegan question. Sorry.

In our 10 or so trips to Pearl, we've found that the crowd is roughly 50/50 split between those interested in the lifestyle and those that just want the option of being naked in the pool and wearing risqué outfits at night. Come one, come all!

We are not in the Lifestyle but we love to go nude around the world. Desire Pearl and RM are both our favourite places just because of what everyone has mentioned here, people in the Lifestyle are very respectful and just want to have fun. So our advice is go, enjoy, meet people, you will have a blast like you were 20 again!

As everyone else has said, you'll fit in great and have a wonderful time. On the food front, Mrs LetsH4veCoffee isn't sticky vegetarian but probably orders that way 9 out of 10 times. She loves the food options at DP and has never had a problem with the resort accommodating whatever she needs as far as changes to dishes or even just creating something off the menu that suits her taste.

Thank you everyone - we're still considering it. :)

We were just there as first timers, non lifestyle too. We felt completely comfortable. We made multiple friends over the week, most of whom weren’t LS either. We got some friendly attention from some LS folks as well, but it was all relaxed, chill and zero pressure - actually felt good to be on someone’s radar, but they were very quick to pick up the ‘no interest’ vibe and floated along to engage with others who were.

Although we aren’t strict vegetarians any more (we eat fish) we wouldn’t have had a problem eating healthy and pure vegetarian - plenty of options. If you’re vegan, more limited options, but the kitchen staff are extremely accommodating and will make anything you want if you don’t see what you need on the buffet or menu.

Go for it. You'll fit right in. We're non-LS as well and love being nude (male especially), have been to DP 3 times, and each time, we get more comfortable with our PDS in public. We're taking our 1st nude cruise in Croatia this August. Can't wait.

Hi from NY
My husband and I spent six vacations on Orient Beach and only wanted to be naked every day on the beach. We met some wonderful people on Orient that are so comfortable in their skin and all of it so liberating! We decided to look for other locations that gave us the clothing optional vibe with some added sexy to it. We did a lot of research and booked our first trip to DP three years ago, well fast forward this will be our forth trip to DP this October.

Book your trip now! You will not regret it!

Cheers,
S & K

I just want to add that we also went to Cap d'Agde 7yrs ago. We only stayed 4 days but enjoyed every minute of it. For those who aren't familiar with Cap d'Agde, Google it.

We're heading to Europe next summer. Perhaps I'll be able to talk the wife into spending a few days there before we return home.

You will love it. Amazing people. Best vacation ever!

I am a vegetarian and had no problem finding food. You will see the same few veg things on the menu repeatedly, but if you tell them what you want, they are happy to accommodate. The staff is very considerate.

Just an FYI: They make a ton of vegetarian soups. While soup is usually not a highlight at a restaurant, they were some of the best things we ate at Pearl.

We could have written the above from kandsny. Our first trip to Pearl was great after the initial shock. We even went back to St.Martin this year and while we LOVE Orient Beach we are looking forward to our next trip.... to Desire. We missed the sexy vibe, dancing and yes even dressing up. Just trying to decide when and if we should try RM this time. Go for it!

Not to hijack this thread but what is the current state of Club O and Orient Beach in general these days? Curious to know how much has been rebuilt since the storm.

When we were on the island in November, we were told the French side still in bad shape as French government was requiring French everything to rebuild so it was slowing things. We were only there for a day on a cruise but the Dutch side was in pretty good shape.
