Hello, we are coming to stay at Desire Pearl and have a few questions. Hope someone can help!

I was told about express check in online. Should i do this? We booked Deluxe Ocean View room. Is there a room number or building number you would recommend we request?

Is topless and nude permitted in all the hotel grounds and in all the pools?

I am 30 years old and he is 34 and was wondering will there be guests similar in age?

Is sex only allowed in some places? I saw in reviews online that it is happened on beach too.

Will be our first time and we are a little shy. Not really in our plan to 'swing'. Any advice for us?

What events or experiences would you definitly recommend we book - i looked at list on website and are many!

Anything else as tips or advice as first timers we would appreciate!

We are not pros like others on here but here are a few replies as best we can..

We have not done express check in. Depending on arrival time it might help. Arrival mid week is not nearly as busy as friday aft, or sat arrivals.

Nude/topless anywhere but we find almost everyone topless or even nude at pool, much less around bars etc. There was one guy strutting naked at 7am while we were eating breakfast every morning but that is not the norm.

You are likely a bit on the younger side of the curve but surely will find lots of similar age group.

Lots of sex, and various activities all over but beach is not good and very few people out there due to sea weed. Jacuzzi area is the hotspot.

Events etc...you are paying big $ for the trip so planning too much off resort is kind of a waste. Walking or cab into Puerto Morelos is fun for a great meal without burning up much time. Do attend evening themes and have at least the fm dress up. Good fun and enjoyable shopping ahead and dressing up for them even if only there an hour or two.

We travel often and find it crazy how friendly everyone is. We have never been to a resort where literally everyone talks, says hi, happy to chat. It doesnt mean you need to swing but it is very fun to chat with people from all over the world and make lots of new friends. At most high end adult only resorts most people keep to themselves, desire....everyone is there to meet, chat etc. Very fun. Make a point of being equally outgoing and you will have a great time.

Go with an open mind, a friendly outgoing attitude and some sexy clothes....and dont be shy to drop the suit and be naked. Will be an amazing trip. Enjoy

We have always done the express check in. Makes it go a little faster imho.

Building number depends on whether you want your room in the middle of everything or in a quieter section and that’s just your personal preference. No room is that far away.

Sex on the beach isn’t permitted at Pearl. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen but is against their rules. At RM it is permitted.

We have never left the property except for a walk into town each trip. If you are talking about all the extras at the resort, we haven’t booked them either as we have always found there was plenty of fun going on without it.

As for the swinging question my only advise is talk talk talk and decide what is your limit. Then after a day there talk more and more and more. Sometimes limits change.

Best advice is go, relax, have tons of fun with the best people, and don’t plan a lot.

Just gonna add a little to what's already been said...

We do express check in. You can request a certain building if you like. There are threads here with the map of the resort for you to see where you'd like to be. More ocean view rooms near the quiet end of the pool.

We did a few experiences our first time. The one we liked the best was the photo session with Provoke. It was fun and sexy. Negotiate the price tho.

If you don't swing, don't swing. There's never any pressure to do so. The atmosphere is sexually charged tho so you might experiment more than you think you would. Talk about it with each other and stay within your boundaries.

From the way you phrased this, it sounds like you think you might be "expected" to swing and will have to make excuses as to why you don't. This couldn't be further from reality. To be clear, this is not a "Swingers Resort". Swinging does happen here but it is not expected, required, or noticed if you don't. You are not agreeing to any kind of interaction by the mere fact that you are there (and possibly naked). Don't worry about this aspect of the trip - it's much less intimidating than you think.

Everyone's giving great thoughts and being been helpful, which you'll find is the norm when you're at Desire. Everyone is relaxed, friendly, and non-judgemental.

Just adding or reiterating a few thoughts:

- we like express check in because we request certain buildings/floors/rooms and doing this gets us what we want.

- No nudity in the restaurants... And usually none or limited in the lobby most of the day (that's not a rule, but more respecting the business aspect of the resort and it's not really a sexy hangout... Until the night activities)

- As for the add-on activities, I'd say to get down there and decide once you're there. This first trip will likely be stimulating and involved enough that you won't really feel like doing extra (or paying for it). This will be our fifth Desire trip and we've never done any extras. Having said that, there is a sensual touch class that a couple puts on during some days. We'be heard great things and will be doing that this time. It's free but you're expected to tip the couple well as this is how they make their money.

- Age... You'll be on the younger end, but there will be others with you for sure. My wife is 33, for example. But you really won't notice or care too much about age. Again, everyone's in the same boat, are cool, fun, sexy, non-judgemental, etc.

- Swinging... Or any other sexual experience... I'll second the advice of communication... Communicate all of your thoughts, hopes, and ideas before you go. Communicate over and over when you're there. If you're open, honest, and communicating, all will be fine. ALSO... You will not feel pressured to swing. You will have people talking to you and being friendly, but that's where it stays unless you want it to go further.

Overall, just do to Desire with no plan or expectations. The only plan should be to have the most open and relaxed vacation of your life with your spouse. If that's the only plan, you will love your trip and have no disappointments at all.

Thank you everyone for reply! Someone say that seaweed is bad before. Anyone knows if still is like this now?

Seaweed varies so hard to guess. If the barrier goes in before your trip, it should be better. If not, it could be nothing to a ton of it.
