Let me begin by saying this was our first trip to a couples clothing optional resort, but we have traveled to European beaches where nudity is very common. After much deliberation, research, thought, and preparation we decided to venture on to Desire Pearl. Our goal, to enjoy a romantic getaway with a sexually charged atmosphere!

Day 1
We arrived and were picked up by Trans Beach, they did an ok job, made us wait for a short period (20 minutes) and then asked us if we minded if another couple heading to Pearl rode with us. At first we were nervous, not knowing what to expect from potential Lifestylers (thinking their aliens), but said what the heck might as well start to meet other Desire couples. This is when we met a couple from Arkansa, great people, very friendly, and helped ease us with what to expect when we arrive.
When we arrived at Pearl, after a grueling bumpy ride in (pot holes everywhere), check in was a breeze. Took all but 5-10 minutes, got the Penthouse room we requested, so I was extremely surprised and happy at the level of information and customer service they had demonstrated to this point. Evaristo and Maggy were awesome, and they definitely deserve recognition, THANK YOU! We quickly went to our room and it was beautiful, nicely decorated, stocked with everything that we would need during our stay. Decided to get some lunch, that was excellent, my wife discovered their Chicken Fajitas and Guacamole. Hung out by the beach for a while, explored the grounds, and then headed back to the room to unpack. By this time we were tired and I was coming down with a bug. At night ordered room service. This is where things got interesting.
Around 10:30pm the phone rings, I’m already in bed, my wife answers the phone, there’s an unknown man on the other end. The man decides to share to my wife what his wife was doing to herself at that present moment and if she was interested in joining them. Funny to hear her responses, and sort of a turn on to see her faced with that situation lol. However, after she kindly declines and explains to the man several times that we are not into that kind of activity, he politely apologizes for disturbing and hangs up. My wife and I are laughing, because this was our first experience with any kind of proposition at Desire on day one. 10 minutes later there is a knock on our door. There are 2 maintenance people insisting there is a leak in our room and that they are there to repair it. After a long challenging language barrier explanation that there are no issues with our room they decide to tour and inspect the room, acknowledge, and then leave. Weird first night.
Day 2, 3
Creature of habits and comfort. Woke up every morning, enjoyed a cup of coffee, went down for breakfast, took a cup of coffee to the beach, relaxed for an hour, changed into our bathing suits and hung out at the beach. Later grabbed lunch and went back to the beach. In the evening grabbed dinner at Pearl restaurant and did some more exploring of the resort. Apparently these Newbies like to explore before we get comfortable. We also tried the Claudia experience if you want details, PM (could have skipped this experience, the resort couples massage was an incredible time).
Day 4
The only change on this day is that we finally built up the courage to check out the Disco theme night event. This turned out to be fun. Let me begin by saying there are a lot of confident people dressing for theme night and participating in the contests. Good for them! At one point during the contest I started to feel nervous just in case they decided to pick on us, but no, it was pleasantly a great night. Walked past the Jacuzzi after the disco and surprisingly it was empty. Now this could of just been that it was only 11pm, and that the real fun doesn’t begin until after midnight. A bit late for me, but my wife was willing which was surprising.
Day 5
Busy day since it was our last. We did our morning ritual but decided to change our romantic pier dinner to elsewhere since it was raining and the awesome staff Carlos offered the Pearl Wine Room. Went for the couples massages later that afternoon, used the steam room, sauna, another awesome experience. You never want to leave the Spa facilities it’s so comfortable and clean! In the evening the wife dressed up for the neon theme and we went to dinner, in the Pearl wine room. She looked freaking amazing! WOW! My anxiety small tight spaces started, so we asked to be moved outside which wasn’t an issue. The food and service was great as well, so it ended up being a great dinner. Afterwards we went to the lobby to enjoy some music, and since I couldn’t resist my beautiful sexy wife we decided it was time to head up to the room. In route we were almost in our birth day suits, incredible experience. I mean where else can you dress like this and enjoy being sexy adults!
That pretty much describes our first time at Pearl. Here are some things that we observed and learned through this experience and why we’ve become huge fans.
- 1. It’s a couples only resort and pampered to your indulgence with one the best class of service in the world (I know I’ve traveled around the world)
2. Your trip experience is truly based on your attitude and approach (took me time to come out of my shell as a newbie)
3. Don’t bring home or work with you, leave the electronic devices in the room safe, enjoy the limited time you have there!
4. Smile and try things, because only then you will truly know what you like or dislike
5. Intimidation can be a real thing, it’s self-inflicted not imposed by anyone there, don't forget we’re all human
6. Take it for what it is, this is the only place I have found to be surreal for couples, unforgettable!
7. Yes, nudity is mostly everywhere, but all spectrum's of shapes and ages are walking around
8. Public sex is not so visible unless you’re looking very close, which is creepy if you are jk
9. Desire employees are TRULY professionals, they never made us feel uncomfortable! No gawking and eye contact stays above shoulders LOL …remember when I was younger people always said “My eyes are up here”
10. People are truly themselves without any pressures, dressed, half-dressed, or naked it’s all irrelevant and only relevant to how you feel (our observation: 90% men completely naked, 10% clothed, 50% women completely naked, 30% topless, 20% clothed)
11. Theme nights, 90% participation of those attending, not everyone attends, which I strongly encourage everyone to take part in
12. Age groups, during our time we were probably 1-of-3 couples in the 30s out of maybe +20 couples, but age group seemed to average in the mid-40s which makes it perfect sense due to $ and Confidence
13. One last thing, beware of the animal critters crawling the beach at night, we had several surprises LOL memories!!!
So now were back home, and thinking could there be another place we would like to try since we already experienced Desire. Trust me I have done extensive research and reading, I'm research guru. The answer is simple, No. Desire is one of a kind, it offers a sexually charges "do whatever you want" atmosphere, while maintaining etiquette, definitely a new vacation spot for me and my wife. The atmosphere, theme nights, and most importantly customer service is out of this world. The Employees, Facilities, and Guests make it an unbelievable experience.
