FWIW, my comment was a feeble attempt at humor. Thus the “Lol” on the end. BTW, I did watch the moon landing live. I was 12 years old. For someone to have voted in the Kennedy/Nixon election, those people would now be in their mid 80’s. I have seen a couple of couples there who would qualify. They were pretty amazing. But I chose not to make a move on her in the hot tub.

We just returned yesterday from a week at Pearl.

There were certainly days at the pool where the energy was quite mellow, and that was just fine with us. But even with a good number of elderly folks at the resort the dancing at the after dinner party and club was active and fun, and a lot of great participation for the theme nights. The club shows were good, but the crowd did clear out after about 45 min, likely because a lot of people headed to the jacuzzi or back to their rooms.

We know that RM has a younger crowd, which we would have enjoyed more of, but we chose Pearl because it is less of a party atmosphere … and the pool and jacuzzi are great.

The staff and food were great , and we even joined as members. We were there 3 days before becoming members, and 3 days as members, and for sure the service and royal treatment is at a different level for members.

As far as the airport we were off the plane, collected our luggage, and thru customs in about 20 minutes when we arrived. So obviously it’s not always the shitshow that the OP had to endure.

We had one of the Penthouse rooms with a 180 degree ocean view and deck with a plunge pool. We personally think these are far better than the Mansion … just our opinion as we love relaxing on the deck naked looking out at the ocean.

our experience with customs and luggage vary a lot. We are usually toward the front of the plane so we are among the first of our flight to reach Passport Control. Sometimes we find it empty and sometimes it is full. Sometimes after leaving Passport Control our luggage has already been set off of the carrasel and other times we wait an hour for it to arrive. The worst part is that there is no rhyme or reason on the luggage.

We like meeting people on line before we visit the resort. This board asks what LS sites a user belongs to, but fails to ask for a user id. It is handy if that information is also shared, unless you don’t want to share it.

We like the Penthouse for October through Feb or March. Mansion for March through Sept. why? Newer air conditioning units.

We’re already booked into the new royals for most of this summer and into the holidays, and hope those are as nice as we hope.

As for planes we try to sit in seat 3 on the left side. Primarily because it’s a moving target if they’ll have the jet bridge on the front door or the middle. That splits the difference.

Congrats on joining. We did it on our second trip and upgraded on the fourth and then whatever last New Years was number wise.

That is exactly our play on seats. We try to get row 2,3, or 4 on the right with 3 being prime.

We have Royal Suite reservations in June and again in November. But now I don’t know whether that means top floor of the mansion or the new ones. Top floor of the mansion is preferable because the playroom is right across the hall. Are the new Royal Suites beach front? Multi story? Didn’t see when we were there in February.

They are “beach front” in the old playmakers residences. One second floor unit. One lower floor.

If they are finished in late May we may try them then.

We’re on our longest break in a while right now. Canceled April because she wanted to go to Maui for spring break. Both of us kind of excited and kind of bummed.
