Pearl 5/28 - 6/1, 2013

Postby Screamincheetah » Sun Jun 02, 2013 8:23 pm

Wife and I just got back from our first c/o trip and obviously first to Desire last night. Since this site was such a great asset to us, I wanted to jump on and give our thoughts. If you have any other questions, just ask.

- about us: wife 27 ; me 37 from the U.S. lifestyle comfortable, but first time to a resort like this. quality Travel and quality dining experienced. I say this to let you know that we know what good and bad service and experience is, which hopefully makes this review even more positive.

- room 73 - quiet end of the pool, third floor up...very nice. Everything was very clean and worked exactly like it should...no complaints at all. We will second what we read on here in that it's a good idea to bring some extra hangers. Other than that all you need is provided for (iron; umbrella; all toiletries; etc)

- food - overall very good...again, no complaints. Pearl has the same menu for two nights and then switches, while Aphrodite is different each night. This worked well, as we could plan ahead and be at Aphrodite the nights we liked their theme and pearl the others. Both restaurants are similar in level of service and food quality, both of which are high. If you are only here for a week or less I can't imagine getting sick of the food.

- drinks - top notch, good brand name selections, strongly made, and as many as you want, whenever you want...what more can you ask for?

- entertainment - around the pool and beach/daily activities were fun and well run. Didn't do a lot of if, but enjoyed what we did, and liked watching some of the others. It all adds energy to the resort, but you can easily escape or ignore it on the quiet end or on the beach. The staff works hard and does a great job being inviting, supportive and energetic...and they're all hot which doesn't hurt anything either.

The disco... We were there two of our four nights... Very much as described by most on here... Everyone watches the show, dances for twenty or thirty minutes and then heads to the hot tub or their rooms. It was very well attended... The shows we saw were entertaining...the music is fine, not the greatest mix, but not nearly as bad as some have stated (maybe they've made adjustments) and not crazy loud either.

- hot tub - great size and layout... Great way to hang out with friends before or after the night activities...usually not nearly hot enough for some reason, even after repeated requests to turn it up. There might be a method to their madness, but it often felt like lukewarm soup water or old bath water...not sexy, but overall a good time and well maintained/clean. There is some playing that occurs in the tub, but most take that to the surrounding beds. If you want to see it, you can, if you don't you don't have to watch. It's not in your face in any way.

- atmosphere - very positive, laid back, welcoming, and non-judgmental. The guests were everywhere from 25 to 70, with all body types, so you never felt odd or out of place. Everyone is in the same boat and its very freeing and healthy feeling. If you want to sit on the quiet side of the pool or on the beach the whole trip, you can do that without feeling any pressure. We are more laid back and thought that might be us. We did that, and did some of the activities and did the beach. We ended up doing a little of everything and felt great and accepted at each area or activity.

- lifestyle - nudist - none of the above - we would tell anyone who is open minded and comfortable in their own skin to go this resort. Above all it's just a luxury resort that allows people to be themselves and push boundaries if they want. There's no agenda and no pressure. As a matter of fact, as lifestylers, we'd say that this is the group that might find frustration or awkward moments more than the non-lifestyle people. We were never approached, never pressured and never subjected to any sights we didn't look for or want to see. Knowing that to make a physical connection with someone takes a lot of different factors to fall into place, I'd say the majority of sexual activity that takes place here is with the one you came with. So don't be scared that this is some out of control, in your face orgy...couldn't be farther from the truth.... Unfortunately :D

- clothing - around the pool, everyone is in every level of dress and undress. My wife did topless most of the time, but because of fair skin and a first day burn was often in her t shirt too. I was naked out of the pool some, but not often. In the pool, almost always naked. As for others, some love every part of being naked and do it as much as possible, while others mix and match. Again, it's all here and you won't be out of place. I would think though, that part of the point of coming would be to lose some inhibitions or to do things you can't at other resorts. It seems most of the guests have that mindset here. Now the hot tub... All naked, all of the time...almost everybody :D

Breakfast and lunch... No naked... Most in full or nearly full cover ups or even regular clothes. Dinner, most wear full outfits and this is nice. Now the full outfits are almost all sexy for the ladies, which is even better. We didn't see much of the lingerie or barely there stuff at the two dinner restaurants. This is the safe and preferred way to go we think (and the resort asks for). Men, bring some chinos and a polo or short sleeve button down...or fancier if you want. Leave the shorts and such. You won't and shouldn't look better than your lady, but make an attempt to look decent as the meals and atmosphere is higher class.

- disco - here's a fun one that is often debated... We spent a lot of time worrying about these choices...we shouldn't have. Those that go watch the show, dance a little and leave. Most women looked very sexy in something that approached the theme color or look wise, but was still mostly dresses and such. There was very little lingerie or true costumes, so don't stress on it. Get a tight, revealing dress for sinners night and call it good. Men... Wear what you wore to dinner. The women are the show, and most of them aren't worrying about costumes and theme too much, so you shouldn't either. I'm not saying this is the way it should be ideally, but it's the way it is so don't fight it.

- tips we stole from others here that we highly endorse...
- use USA Transfers... Private service, reasonable cost and very professional
- Bubba (or any double walled cold liquid thermos) ... We had the 22oz ones and it saves trips to the bar, keeps drinks cold and have lids to avoid messes
- take some extra hangers... There were about eight in the room, so plan accordingly
- pack in gallon or bigger ziplock bags.... Fold everything nicely but compact, put in the bags then squeeze the air out and seal. You get more in your suitcase, makes everything orderly and keeps it dry if its raining at the airport which it was on our way out
- take ones for tips... I forgot, only had a few and ran out quickly... The manager gave me fives, but that only works for dinner. They want you to change to pesos but I didn't want to pay for it. So we didn't tip as much as we wanted to. This isn't required though, and we got amazing service from everyone anyway. It would have just made us feel better to be able to do it more. They work hard and deserve it.
- if it's your first time, allow for a day or even two to get completely comfortable and settled, which means we wished we would have booked one or two extra days. Next time, five or six will be perfect because we'll settle in and start enjoying quicker knowing what it's all about and how we like to do things.
- you can't wear too much sun screen and reapply a lot... Burns suck... My wife lost some of the experience by having to protect and hide her bad burns.
- don't go with a bunch plans and preconceived ideas of what's going to happen... Just go with an open mind and a sense of adventure
- as in everything in life, communicate, communicate, communicate... Be open and honest with each other and make us your partner is having a great time and is happy at all times. If this happens you will both go home very happy.

Nice report. Its good to read about a first timers experience. We are trying Pearl for the first time in a couple weeks & had some concerns. Sounds like we shouldn't have any concerns. I think we were guilty of comparing Pearl to what we have become accustomed to at RM.
We are a little disappointed to read that most, including the women, didn't really participate in the themes or change into something a little more revealing after dinner. If that's the case, my wife is really going to stand out! ;)

As is mentioned often, the level of participation in the themes, levels of revealing dress, etc. pretty much depends on the particular crowd present at the time. We have never been when there hasn't been all levels of dress and undress. Even if not in costume, we try to do something to color coordinate with the theme in some way. I (male half) often wear nothing more than a thong and sandals to the disco for the themes. And if someone thinks its just about the women, that's because you and plenty of other "males" haven't taken the time to see what difference it makes in dressing for the themes. Ask the woman if they agree with this comment. The last thing I would do is "wear what I wore to dinner that night". I can do that every night of the week at home and save a lot of money. The women who frequent Desire, aren't just there looking at other women. Many may be, but most appreciate the effort of the men who participate. Just mho...

Thank you! Sometimes it is okay to wear what you wore to dinner but the guys should make an effort as well, after all it takes two to tango :) In May more so at RM than Pearl, there were some guys who changed for the themes. That said however, a tank top and boxers for the most part just looks sloppy if that is your idea of theme dress. The worst part is these guys were showing off their wives, I bit my tongue though 8)

Thank You for the very detailed and fantastic report plus the tips too as learned a few more ourselves.
We are looking forward to our trip to Pearl next week and excited to hear it's different than RM as we are vets of RM and the reason we decided to shift was for all the reasons you described and some additional ones so we shall see.
We would consider ourselves the attractive fun active open nudist couple who runs naked all day and loves the freedom. As for the lifestyle we are the conditional vacation only lifestyle friendly couple who has played in the past with the right connection, chemistry and attraction and open only to the intimate and sensual softer side of the lifestyle behind closed doors with class, we hope we will not be too wild but we are definitely are the mild couple when at RM in the past lol lol.
As for the only thing we would hope or feel different on would be the guys and the theme attire. My lady wants me to look hot and sexy on the dance floor and matching her attire and the everyday 9-5 business attire doesn't do it for her as she sees that business suit and dinner dress daily.
When in theme we are together in team as I always dress to match her and dress to impress her with a sexy and sultry look as she likes it and it seems from time to time the other ladies do too.She dresses to impress everyone the guys, gals and most important of all, she says lol lol me.
Thank You Again For The Wonderful Report & Fantastic Tips we'll see how week begins on Saturday and our report to follow

Like I said, my advice isn't ideal on this topic, it's just closer to reality. The fact is, my wife and I both spent time planning for the themes. I even hand made a vest for Arabian night, that I didn't end up wearing because it was our first night and we crashed early. I actually dressed in theme and while I wasn't made to feel stupid, I definitely felt a little out of place. The point of my advice is this, most people watch the show, stay for a minute and leave. So since most aren't taking too much part in the dancing and mingling part of the disco, I would advise they don't get stressed or spend a lot of money on outfits. Most seemingly don't anyway. The purpose of the advice is to advise first timers trying to figure it all out. If you are someone who enjoys getting dressed up, by all means you should do it. That's the great part about pearl is that you can do what makes you happy.

I can say I'm not one of "those other males". I may not dress up like the Prince of Persia on Arabian night but I am always dressed well (my wife makes sure of that) & usually in something that at least is color coordinated to my wife & the theme. Some themes I participate in more than others. We do agree that the more people making at least a little effort, the better the vibe & more fun the night will be.

And I do agree with your point. Many people (men?) on here seem to stress and agonize over what to do with the theme nights, and perhaps that is why many of them end up not participating at all. I have found that just making at least a minimal effort to at least color coordinate with my wife makes a huge difference in the fun, and especially the attention from other women. Its definitely not something to stress over, but a little effort goes a long way and is much appreciated by the women in my experience. I would never spend alot of money on full blown costumes, but doing nothing at all, and in fact looking like your own your way to the local bar at home isn't the answer either. If it really is "all about the women", don't you think they deserve something more than what they can see at home every day ?

Preaching to the choir... Like I said... We did dress up, and enjoy doing it... The trip report is to give an accurate portrayal of what is happening at Pearl for others to get prior insight.

So about the rest of the report...

Theme nights are optional.........some don't seem to understand that. My wife has hot sexy theme outfits for each night. I have no interest dressing like a Sheik or wearing red or neon. I will get dressed in nice black slacks and a trandy shirt.

Amen. Virtually everything is optional. Everyone is spending a lot of money to be there. With the exception of a few rules imposed by the resort, people can eat, drink, play and dress as they please. If my Cubavera linen pants and shirt aren't color coordinated with my wife's theme outfit, neither she nor I will stress about it. Hopefully, others won't break their crayons because of it.

Theme nights to me are like a week long Halloween costume party! I try to give the ladies somthing to look at ,as they have always done for me , especially my wife.it truly does pay Major dividens. You don't have to spend a tone of money to achieve a great costume either.always hit the Halloween stores the week after...really cheep !!
