RAIN RAIN RAIN.... UGH....


D and I have stayed at RM 2 other times in the past and liked it. We did a day pass to Pearl on our last RM visiting so we thought we'd give it a try.

1st off as almost everyone has commented the rooms are far superior to RM. We had a basic Ocean view room and it was fabulous in comparison.

What we liked...
The pool was much larger and nicer
The hot tub was much larger and nicer
The rooms as stated above are larger and nicer
Service overall was very good. On par with RM, other than we didn't know the staff yet (not Pearl's fault)

What we disliked
The Constant Thump Thump Thump of Techno beat music..... UGH. Some of it is fun, 24-7 it gets annoying.
For what ever reason we didn't feel like it was as easy to meat people at Pearl. not sure If it was the large hot tub, the small short lived disco, or the rain that we had 5 of 7 days, or just our demeanor over the disappointment from the rain. (ugh, 1st trip we have ever experienced this much rain).
We both managed to get sick on this trip as well, 5 of 7 days I was ill, and 4 of 7 D was. (a week later I'm still not 100%) We don't know if it was food poisoning or a general virus.
The Freaking Time Share "Shove it down our throat" ordeal was miserable. We told them NO about 7 times and they insisted. That was the worst part of my trip and kind of set my mood for the first 2-3 days. Shame on Original Resorts for allowing this. We sat through it at RM and said no and had to cuss the guy out, then they forced it upon us again at PEARL UGH, enough with the timeshare already. We both are borderline not booking again at either Desire resort, and will likely spend our money somewhere else on our next trip before going to desire again due to this.

Will I visit pearl again? Probably, but I will split my weeks 4 days at RM and 3 at Pearl next time. I feel Pearl has a lot to offer but somehow just didn't have the same sexual sensual vibe we get at RM. For us we never "Clicked" with the crowd at Pearl... we are not hardcore or normal "lifestylers" for those who are wondering, but we do occasionally play when on vacation if the situation feels right.

A lot of the issues we had were no fault of Pearl so I feel we need to give them another shot before I fully weigh in.

I guess it Depends on who you get at check in for the sales pitch. A quick no thank you and we were done for the week!

We can't say anything about the time share pitch at the Desire Resorts as we refused to go to any at DLC. But the time shares that we attended at other resorts we discovered that by the time we added up all the cost to buy into the time share that we could go to a top rated resort anywhere in the world cheaper. After all we are still working and can only get two weeks vacation a year.
