- The jacuzzi is located about seven steps up and to the immediate west of the south end of the pool. It is hidden behind a stategically placed wall creating a semi private enclave. Quite large, (I estimate it at about 50-60 feet in diameter) the water is kept comfortably warm....purposely not hot....so that you can remain in the water for long periods of time. The bar is located at the west side of the circle. Although you can enter the jacuzzi at any point around the circle, there are stairs to the right and left of the bar which are much easier to use. The one complaint I have about the layout of the jacuzzi is that there are no pedestals strategically located so that you can temporarily set your drink down while conversing.
Around 4pm to 5pm each afternoon, couples begin finding their way to the jacuzzi from the pool, beach and otherwise. The area becomes DP's version of Happy Hour from then until 7pm or even a bit later.
We are not lifestylers so I'm unqualified to expound on what you might experience if you are. What I can offer is our experience as outsiders to that lifestyle. The jacuzzi seemed to be the prime area for couples to hook up. Although we were in the jacuzzi each afternoon, we talked with other couples and only once, maybe twice, did the conversation move in a direction where we thought it appropriate to make it known that we do not swing. Done deftly, there was no awkwardness in the flow of conversation and the other couple was in a position to move on if they wished. (On Saturday night at the disco, a lifestyler told me that he estimated that lifestylers had made up about 30-40% of the clientele.
The jacuzzi area and the playroom off the disco are the only places where PDS is officially permitted. The degree of PDS at the jacuzzi in the afternoon varies. During our visit, Wednesday and Thursday was pretty tame. There are five canopied beds around the jacuzzi decks and there was some intermittent PDS on them those two afternoons. But on Friday, the nature of the crowd seemed to change and the PDS level increased greatly, not only on the beds but also in the water itself. I had been told by the front desk that part of the increased occupancy that would occur Friday would be due to about 30 couples transferring over from DRM. Whether that was the source or not, the age level of the clientele seemed to dip lower into the thirty-somethings and the sexual intensity increased.
We tended to hit the jacuzzi level earlier than others. About 3pm we found that the jacuzzi beds were more shaded than areas at the pool. So the beds provided a great place to enjoy the cool breeze. And get a head start on the permissible PDS.
One further thought on PDS at DP. I have described above PDS at the jacuzzi in the afternoon. As the disco starts closing down about 11:30 - 1am, the PDS at the jacuzzi resumes and at an even increased level than late afternoon. What occurs in the playroom is beyond the scope of my report since we did not frequent it. We prefer the openness, breeze and starry skies than to a small enclosed room.
As far as for unauthorized PDS elsewhere on the property, I think the canopied beds on the beach offer the best opportunity for some mutual playing if discretely done. But my guess is that the beach servers and/or security would bring a halt to actual intercourse or oral. Around the pool, a caress or brief touch or kiss of the breast would go pretty much unnoticed or accepted.
I'm mindful, of course, that we were at DP during a pretty average time. I've not been to DP or DRM during a takeover. So all my assessments about PDS could go out the window then.
