First Timers Report - July 2016

Postby hapi2beeus » Sat Aug 06, 2016 10:34 am

We were looking for an adventure and Pearl did not disappoint.

From the airport shuttle service to the resort; through the check-in process and everything until we departed, our experience exceeded all expectations. Everything that we read regarding the friendly and fun atmosphere was true and then-some. The staff including front-desk, waiters, pool service, bartenders and even the grounds keepers were very customer service oriented. As someone who has had extensive customer service training, I can attest that it was world-class.

Because we found this forum to be invaluable to first timers, we would like to add a few tips for others considering Pearl as a first time CO experience.

Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The private patio was great for being naked and enjoying some coffee, while saying good morning to the other guests who strolled by on the way to the pool area.

Although we don't consider ourselves extroverts, we found that everyone was very approachable and the pool bar was a great place to grab some shade, have a drink and socialize. We did find that there is a 'schedule' of a sort with respect to daily activities, including meals.
One great way to meet people is by participating in the games. The staff (including Charlie, Marco and Bella) kept things going and were very fun to be around. Both water basketball and volleyball were great ways to meet others and have fun.

The food was very good at both restaurants (Aphrodite: casual and Pearl: formal). As with almost everything at the resort, all you need is to ask for something special from the chef at Aphrodite (mainly buffet style dining) and they will prepare most anything (including Eggs Benedict). The menu at Pearl was eclectic and although the portions were small, the food was very good and you can enjoy all that you want. There is also an outdoor grill setup daily, that serves a variety of dishes around lunchtime. You may get a chance to meet 'Max' the resident Iguana that enjoys some food scraps from the grill as well.

We enjoyed the quieter times on the beds lining the beach area and surrounding the Jacuzzi. The bartenders (Emilio was our favorite) were quick to bring us refills.
Special note: MUST TRY Tequila Cream (1921) and the Monkey Sperm shooters! TRUST US ON BOTH

Although we did not try the spa services, including the sensual message, we did talk with another couple that recommended it. I hear that Oscar is very popular with the ladies!

With regards to the level of intimacy/nudism at the resort:
There was everything from fully-clothed guests, to complete nudity. Some people held hands and others were intimate on the beds surrounding the jacuzzi. There was absolutely no judgemental comments heard from staff or guests. It was truly designed as a place where your Desires are what is important. Do not feel intimidated, as all body-types and ages were welcomed equally. We are not Ken and Barbie either!

There is a 'mercado' (mall) plaza in nearby Puerto Moreles. It's a nice 15-minute stroll down the beach (exit near Aphrodite) where you can buy the same types of trinkets found in Cancun or Cozumel. There is also a pharmacia where we purchased some antibiotics (for future use).
Men: Yes; we are able to purchase vitamin "V" without prescription. My wife appreciated that multiple times throughout our stay :)
(US Customs did not ask about prescriptions, but be prepared to explain that the meds are for your personal use). There are also some small beach bars and message tents setup near the plaza for a quick stop-over before walking back to Pearl.

It is certainly worth mentioning that the minimum wage in Mexico is about $6/day! Please be kind to those who work for tips. They do all that is asked and more, for the chance to make your stay perfect and provide for their families. We spent about $50-$100/day in tips, depending on alcohol consumption :D

Ultimately; we had the time of our lives and find ourselves questioning whether we will ever be able to enjoy another all-inclusive resort, that does not have everything that Pearl gave to us......and yes....we are already making plans to return within the next 6-8 months! We met some new friends and can't wait to go back!

p.s. One last suggestion....Stay at least 5-days...you will not regret it!
