First Timer Report - Aug 2 - 6, 2016

We had the following requirements when choosing a resort:

1. We wanted an All Inclusive resort.
2. We wanted an Adults Only resort.
3. We wanted a Clothing Optional resort.
4. We wanted a Caribbean resort.

We chose Desire Pearl for the following reasons:

1. Met all of the above requirements.
2. Never been there before.
3. Online reviews were outstanding.
4. Theme Nights sounded fun.
5. Reviews indicated more mature and less life-style clientele than Hedonism or Desire RM.

Below is our trip report from 8/2/2016 thru 8/6/2016:

1. Flew Delta and flight was uneventful and on-time. You can’t ask for more than that!
2. Luggage was actually waiting on us by the time we made it to the carousel. You can’t ask for more than that!
3. Had a ton of sex toys in our bags and got the dreaded red light at customs. The customs agent looked at us, smiled, told us to have a great vacation, and waved us through without looking in our bags. Wow! You can’t ask for more than that!
4. We reserved ground transport with Best Day (BD) Travel. We shared the limo with two other couples. We gave the driver 100 pesos before we boarded (other couples didn’t) and without asking, he drove directly to Desire Pearl in order to drop us off first. You can’t ask for more than that! The driver was friendly and professional. We would highly recommend BD Travel.
5. We arrive at Pearl by 12:30pm and met by employees with hugs, smiles, and Champaign. Check in was fast and efficient. We were newbies and received the room that we requested when filling out the express registration form. Our room was even ready for us 3 hours early. You can’t ask for more than that!
6. We didn’t reserve a penthouse suite, so we didn’t expect butler service. We were assigned a gentleman named Estabon (spelling?) to carry our bags and show us to our room. We tipped Estabon 100 pesos, and he was at our beckon call for the remainder of our stay. He was AMAZING! Not sure if Desire management reads this forum, but if they do… Estabon deserves a big fat raise! You can’t ask for more than that!
7. We reserved a junior suite (room 82). We don’t know why you would want anything more. It was well appointed, comfortable, and clean. Special thanks to our maid, Letitia. We never saw her, yet our room was always straightened up and immaculate. Tip your housekeeper! Probably the only minor complaint about the room was the low flow water pressure in the shower. Otherwise, you can’t ask for more than that!
8. We reserved our pool chairs with Irving every morning around 9:00am. We tipped him 100 pesos each day and he made sure we were comfortable with clean towels, pillows, and a perfectly positioned umbrella. Irving was very good at making sure the umbrellas were in the exact correct spot. Most importantly he was always smiling and making small talk with us throughout the day. Great employee and Debby found him very easy on the eyes. You can’t ask for more than that!
9. We didn’t belly up to the bar much during our stay. We didn’t need to. The pool server, Raquel, made sure we always had a drink in hand. We tipped Raquel 100 pesos at the beginning of each day. She was super sweet, had a wonderful attitude and gorgeous smile. She was even great about recommending specialty drinks. You can’t ask for more than that! Ladies, you have to try something called a Bubble Mango. Delicious!
10. We ate breakfast and lunch every day at the Aphrodite restaurant. On our first day we had a waiter named Christian. He gave us such great service that we gave him a 100 pesos tip even though it was a buffet service. After that, Christian would run to the door when he saw us to make sure we sat in his station. He never allowed us to eat at the buffet again. He would always have the chef make something special just for us. You can’t ask for more than that! Christian was one of our favorite employees at Pearl. Desire management, if you are reading this, Christian deserves a big fat raise!
11. We spent most of the early day at the pool or beach. The music was good and the entertainment staff was tremendous. Rocky fell deeply in love with one of the entertainment staff named Bella. She was the embodiment of perfection in his eyes. We would strongly suggest you talk to fellow guests while at the pool. Some of the guests seemed single minded in wanting to connect with LS couples, so some of them didn’t seem to want to waste their time on us. But for the most part, most couples at the resort were so friendly and ready to talk, joke, laugh, and engage. We joined a private chat room for couples going to Pearl in August, and we would strongly recommend you search out an opportunity like this. The people in that group were like good friends by the time we got to Pearl, and gave us a ready-made set of couples to sit with, interact with, and have dinner with. The vibe we encountered at the pool from other guests and resort staff exceeded our expectations. You can’t ask for more than that!
12. Daily activities included volleyball, horseshoes, ping pong, dance classes, exercise classes, sensual massage classes, corn hole, and sensual photography lessons. Our suggestion would be to take advantage of all the activities that the resort has to offer. All were fun and some made you push your boundaries. For example, one of the sensual massage classes was little more than an hour long handjob session followed by 14 couples having sex on the floor. We have NEVER done any exhibitionist stuff before and never intended to do so. To our surprise, we did at Pearl, and it was AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! We are getting all worked up just writing this. You can’t ask for more than that!
13. At about 4:00pm, most people retire to their rooms for some private time or to the infamous Jacuzzi for a party time. We avoided the Jacuzzi until our last day at Pearl because we were not into sharing warm, bubbly water filled with other people’s bodily fluids. On our last full day, we were talking to a Premier Member couple that told us not to worry. They told us that the Desire RM Jacuzzi matched our fears, but the Desire Pearl Jacuzzi was more like a hot and sexy cocktail party. We trusted them and tried the Jacuzzi. Our biggest regret is not doing it starting the first day. It was exactly what they said, a hot and sexy cocktail party in a giant Jacuzzi. It was so much fun, and a beautiful young couple we met on the previously mentioned private chat room introduced us into the art of body shots. DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE JACUZZI AT PEARL! It was great! We might even say the Jacuzzi defines the resort, and if you don’t do it, you’re not really experiencing Pearl.
14. We ate dinner around 7:30pm each evening at the Pearl and Sushi restaurants. We brought incredibly sexy dinner outfits, and Debby really enjoyed dressing to impress for dinner. We would suggest that you be bold and daring in your dinner attire. Buy and wear something you could never get away with at home. The food and service at these restaurants was really good. From the online photos, we thought the Pearl restaurant might be a little tacky; we were wrong. It really has a sexy and intimate vibe to it. The Pearl restaurant has themed menu nights, and we would strongly recommend you try them all. Good ambience, good food, and good service… You can’t ask for more than that!
15. The resort has theme nights and this was one of the reasons Debby chose Desire Pearl over our other vacation options. Not all couples participate by wearing theme costumes, but we did and had an absolute ball shopping for and wearing the costumes. We would highly recommend you go all out and try to embrace the theme nights. It is especially fun if you and your spouse coordinate your costumes. It’s like Halloween in the middle of paradise! The ladies almost always look incredibly sexy and the guys almost always look like… well like guys dressed up in costumes trying to look sexy. LOL. At around 9:30pm the resort will have live entertainment and dancing at the lobby bar. This is a really fun time and an opportunity to meet new friends with other guests. Rocky wants everyone to know that Bella always looks incredibly hot in her theme outfits and that you can’t ask for more than that!
16. The disco doors open at 10:30pm and the party continues until the last guests leaves. We were never those guests. The forum has a lot of complaints about the music, but we actually thought they did a good job of mixing it up with 70’s, 80’s, and current dance music. You can’t ask for more than that! The disco is also where the Sin Room is. We saw quite a few pics of it online, but we didn’t actually go into it during our stay. Who knows? Maybe next time. The disco is a lot of fun, and we would suggest you go every night to enjoy the entertainment and the sights. The first guests begin leaving the disco around 12:30am. Some head to their rooms while others head to the Jacuzzi. Since we are not exhibitionists, voyeurs, or in the LS, we were one of the couples that headed to our rooms for private time… Until our last night…
17. As you read above, earlier that day we went to the Jacuzzi with friends and had a blast. On our way back to our room we looked at each other and inquired about going to the Jacuzzi to join our new friends for drinks. We both said, “Why not?” When we got to the Jacuzzi area, we took off our clothes to jump in the water, and instead, we looked at each other and said, “Why not?” We grabbed a couple of towels, claimed a bed and went at it. For the next hour or more we made love on every inch of that bed, we made love with every inch of our bodies, and we made love in every position humanly possible. It started to rain and we didn’t even slow down! We did this all in presence of and in plain view of 150 of our newest friends. We are sure many of them now know more about our bodies than our own doctors do. (If and when we go to Pearl again, we may even try to find another couple to share our Jacuzzi bed. The beds are huge and the thought of another couple making love right next to us sounds so sexy.) With our hearts beating out of our chests and our legs wobbly and weak, we made our way back to our room while asking each other, “Why the hell did we wait until the last night to experience this?” You can’t ask for more than that!

Final thoughts:

1. If you are thinking of going to Pearl for the first time, and you are nervous about if it is right for you… DO IT! It was our favorite vacation ever. You won’t be too old. You won’t be too young.
2. Go for as many days as you can afford. We went for 5 days and 4 nights. We wish we could have stayed at least 3 more days.
3. If your relationship is strong, Pearl will make it 10 times stronger. If your relationship is struggling, don’t go. The temptations are way too high!
4. Pack sexy clothes for dinner. Pack sexy costumes for theme nights. Go crazy! If you are wondering if what you are thinking of is too sexy, IT’S NOT! We promise!
5. Take your clothes off and embrace the clothing optional aspect of the resort. You won’t be too fat or too skinny. Your boobs look great! Your butt looks great! Your thighs look great! Scars are sexy!
6. Partake in as many activities as you can, even the ones you may not feel confident in doing. You will never see these people again. Make this a vacation to remember! When you get home, you and your spouse will smile at each other and only you two will truly know why.
7. Pack twice the amount of sunscreen that you think you need.
8. Bring a pocket full of 100 pesos notes for tips. The staff is AMAZING! If you don’t bring tip money, you will hate yourselves.
9. Your sex life while at the resort will be amazing. We had sex at least 3 times each day we were there and as many as 6 times in a day. Wow! At home we both have high pressure careers, two teenage children, and elderly parents to take care of. We are lucky to find time and have the energy to have sex once or twice per week. It was amazing to reinforce that we still think each other is sexy.
10. Join or start a private chat room for guests that will be there at the same time as you. We used an app called KIK. These people became our friends and we feel really close to them and miss them already. If possible, we would vacation with these people every year. The intimacy we developed with the couples in our KIK group made our transition to the Pearl resort easy, comfortable, and amazing.
11. Don’t wait until the last day to do anything! Do not leave the resort with the words, “What if?” on your mind. You will regret it. Instead, look at each other and ask, “Why not?”
12. Life is short. Enjoy the time you have, especially with the one you love.

We've seen several of your posts here on the forums, and you seem to be a fun-loving and open-minded couple. From our encounters with Desire veterans, it seems like there are definite Pearl lovers and definite RM lovers, but everyone seemed to agree that either resort was better than anywhere else. It sounded like RM may be having some construction going on and room selection may be limited, so make sure you will be getting the accommodations you are expecting. Love your avatars and the story behind them! Have fun in paradise!

We had some fun on the plane ride home from Desire Pearl, but not all the way to being full members of the mile high club. After our time at Pearl, it was impossible to keep my hands and fingers off Debby when the pilot turned off the cabin lights.

Thanks! I love reading all the trip reports and yours especially was full of great info. We've already chatted with some of the people who are going to be there when we are, I'm sure that will add to the fun even more, if only the days would count down a little faster!

We booked a Superior Garden View room, there are only 10 of those. One of them is pretty close to building 16, not sure how much of a factor this will be in late September, or not sure if we can request to be farther away from the construction.

Not a dumb question at all.

Rocky's Mom was a waitress when he was growing up, and her tips helped pay the day-to-day bills for his household. He is militant about tipping because he knows how much many service employees depend on them to support their families. We've been to several all-inclusive resorts, and at everyone of them tipping was not just discouraged but not allowed. We've even tried to tip employees we knew were having financial problems, and were told, "Please don't. I will lose my job if I take this." We were so lucky we found this Desire Forum, or we would have thought the same about Pearl. After finding out that tips were allowed and appreciated by the employees, we did a lot of research. If you type in tipping in the search box, you will get a lot of past guest thoughts on how much, who, and when to tip at Pearl. There was also one or two posts from guests that became friends with the employees that said the employees appreciate pesos because they didn't need to worry about exchange rates at the local merchants.

We decided on the 100 pesos amount for our own convenience. We decided to use pesos instead of dollars based upon our research on this forum and to show respect for the employees' country. Did they appreciate our efforts? Who knows? We think so, but we've also heard that the employees at Pearl give the same outstanding service whether you tip or not. We can tell you that they never held out their hands expecting a tip, which made giving them a tip and seeing their smiles rewarding for us.

Now to your question... We went to our bank and asked to have $250 exchanged for pesos. We heard this was the cheapest way to exchange our dollars for pesos. Our bank charged us a $12.50 fee and two days later called us to pick up our pesos. It was really that easy.

Karen and Charles, have a great time at Pearl. Embrace all the resort has to offer and enjoy your time together in paradise.
