Trip report Jan 17-27, 2017

We have been to Desire Pearl numerous times. We must admit however, that our latest visit Jan. 17-27 was most disappointing. As usual, the staff was excellent. Our butlers Jerry and Rudy, as well as the pool attendant Victor provided us with outstanding service. The food and the presentation of the food were outstanding also. Entertainment was very good, although we were disappointed that the Three Tenors were no longer performing at the resort. We are in Lifestyles and our big disappointment came from the fact that there were very few, if any, lifestyles guests at the resort during our stay. January is advertised by Desire Pearl as International Swingers Month, this is why we choose to go to Pearl at that time. Management at the resort has the reputation of taking guest concerns very seriously. This is one of the reasons that we keep going back to Pearl. HEDO has been very successful in marketing “target groups” for specific weeks during the year. We ask that Original Resorts seriously consider, when the schedule is being set for the 2018 calendar year, that some weeks, even if only a few, be set aside for “Lifestyles Guests Only”.

Perhaps it was because it was Pearl and not Desire RM? We keep hearing that older non-lifestyle people are gravitating to Pearl while most active Lifestyle guests go to RM.

Any thoughts anyone?

We usually go to Pearl in January during that time and there are plenty of Lifestyle people there. If there weren't, we too would be disappointed. That post surprises me. We have friends that just got back last Saturday from Pearl and they told us it was the most fun crowd they've ever seen there? They didn't say it was a Lifestyle crowd or not...so...

Have you written to management regarding your concerns/request? This forum is not a direct line to them.

Agreed, seen this trend at Pearl last summer, way chiller there, but an incredible resort, top shelf in our opinion.

I guess if you find yourself amidst those that arent in the lifestyle take it as an opportunity to convert a few couples. I think that those that are at Pearl that dont have much if any experience in the lifestyle are still open-minded and maybe up for more than you think. They might just need a nudge in the right direction.
