Our first trip October 7 thru 12, 2018

We arrived during the middle of Tropical storm Michael. However, the only really noticeable affect (other than a little rain) was Sunday night at the beach. There was some significant beach erosion and a couple palms we uprooted. The seaweed cleared after the first couple days and although the beach was not in the best shape, it was clean. Overall the weather was great. Not too hot and certainly sunny enough. The pier looked to have been repaired and was open. From our limited resort knowledge and perspective, overall Pearl appeared to be in good shape and it did not disappoint.
This was our personal experience:
Before the trip we were stressing over the weather (rain was forecast), the uncertainty of trying new things and whether we would fit in with the crowd. Let’s just say, the weather was great, we tried nearly everything and the other guests were so friendly and nice. We had never been to an all-inclusive resort outside the US, let alone a clothing optional lifestyle one. But from the moment we walked through the door, we felt so relaxed and welcomed. The Pearl staff are all incredibly friendly and encouraging. The playmakers made us feel so comfortable and helped bring out the fun and social versions of ourselves. Thank you, Charlie, Kia, Candace, Shirley, Chanel, Roberto, Vince and Panther.
We wanted to try as many offerings as possible. To start, the special couple’s massage at the spa was fantastic. So good, in fact, that we did a relaxing massage later in the week. All the massage personnel were amazing, but the female half wants to give special thanks to Rafael and Emilio. It was an experience we will not forget. As good as the massages were the photoshoot we did was perhaps the highlight of our trip. Jahel is an amazing photographer who captured us in an amazing light. The photographic record we have will be cherished forever.
All the food and drinks were great. Breakfasts felt like home. Lunches had good variety and tasted great. Dinners at Aphrodite were delicious, and Pearl was such an experience. The restaurant staff were attentive and so accommodating. After dinner we always went to the disco for shows, dancing and fun with everyone. We enjoyed going all in with the costumes.
The pool during the day was fun and Victor always did a great job reserving us “our spot”. We tried to participate in everything we could and were rewarded. From sexy darts to the baby bottle sucking contest, the volleyball and pool aerobics and the pool casino games we were all-in. Social time at the hot tub in the afternoon and late nights was a blast. We must have gotten to know at least 20 or more couples. Special thanks to Richard and Lauren for the mind-blowing massage class on Wednesday. It was so sensual, and we very much enjoyed meeting them.
On our last day, we were able to walk the beach to Puerto Morelos to site-see and shop. It's probably best to take that walk in the morning before it gets too hot. After all, you can't take the walk nude.
After 6 days in newly found paradise, we did not want to leave. But all good (great) things must come to an end. This ending, however, is only temporary. We have been home for 5 days and we are already planning to go back. We will be counting the days.
