We never got a chance to experience the EWS night at Desire RM. They have added it to the Pearl and we will be there next week. The resort does supply masks and capes but we will be bringing our own. Can anyone describe what takes place? We are hoping, like the Stanley Kubrick movie, that a Master will be coupling people together. If so, and if it is taking place in the disco, then one imagines a bit of an orgy taking place. At least we hope so. Any information would be appreciated.

Just found the EWS string under General Discussions. However, no clarification on what actually happens other than the suggestion for ladies to bring a purse. Lots of people viewing this thread. Please, somebody, spill the beans since we are leaving in 5 days.

It will be our first time at Desire and to see an EWS event next week as well. I am guessing that they will try and recreate the scene from the movie, assuming that they get enough participants from the audience.

We just returned on 5/7 and witnessed the EWS ceremony. There indeed is a "master of ceremonies". We all first gathered in the lobby and then followed the Master into a back room. Once we all gather around a large bed, an "entertainment crew" couple comes in and simulates sex; because they are actual employees, it's just for "show" of course. Then the Master goes around the room with his staff/stick, and invites guests/couples to join in on the bed in the middle of the room. Because we had only just arrived, we weren't quite in the mood yet, and after about 5 or 6 couples did join in on the bed, we left. At that point, it wasn't an "orgy"; everyone just played with each other. Not sure if things expanded into an orgy though later on; maybe somone else who stuck around can elaborate on that. Hope that helps!

Thanks ZigMoGin. The description is very helpful. We would definitely participate in that type of activity and hope there are some other couples that would also wish to participate.
2 more sleeps then back to Pearl.

The staff were worried that nobody would show for the EWS night last week because nobody wanted to participate with the lap dance lessons in the afternoon by the pool. Well, 60 people crammed into the conference room when you include the staff and the 2 hired dancers to simulate a sexual encounter.

What we assumed would be people actually participating when the "Master" (Charlie) struck his staff in front of them. Yes, we were picked first because Charlie knew we would join in. What we didn't expect was 50 guests expecting us to put on a show for them. Sorry, we aren't paid entertainers. Nobody joined in! I looked up and was amazed that everyone is just standing there, watching. Then the music switched to ball room dancing. Really? Everyone starts filing out of the room. No sexy interactions, no group hugs, big disappointment.

What did people miss after they left? Well, for one thing, no staff were present to turn down the ear splitting music that was looped so the same songs played over and over.

But, 2 other couples did take advantage of the moment. There was a private show by a famous guest and her husband. We felt extremely fortunate that this couple did stay to share a hour of their time and were comfortable enough to display their love for each other. So, on the one hand we were disappointed because so few people wanted to join in, on the other hand, we have a memory that we will cherish forever.

Would we participate in the future. Sure, but our elaborate capes we will leave at home. Still bring our masks that we got for souvenirs in Italy. And go into the room with a couple that we already know aren't bashful.

Well I can definitely say that me and Mrs. Episodic will be participating when we go next week. If we are the only ones then I guess we will put on a show. Glad you all enjoyed the experiance even though nobody else participated. Good for you!

Does anyone know if they really have clokes & mask for rent in the gift shop , last time we were there the gift shop seemed to small to have a lot ?

The Staff handed out capes in the lobby for guests who didn't bring their own. I seem to recall that they also handed out masks, but since we had our own I can't be 100% sure about that.

They had about 3 masks to hand out, if needed.

In preparation for our December trip, we just want to be sure we bring the appropriate wear for EWS. What have people seen there and any suggestions?
Appropriate for the she fishnet lingerie with or without undie? For he, nice shirt and fishnet boxers OK?

Does any one know about cost of costumes or cost of rentals? Wondering if its worth buying costumes ahead of time or renting at Desire.

They hand out capes in the lobby for guests. Bring your own masks - they are easy to pack
