Weather

What's the weather like in January and February at Desire? We've been on Cozumel during those months
and found the weather "cool" and not really beach or pool worthy. Of course we were on Coz to dive but
are thinking about going west. We were at Pearl last May and had great weather. Just trying to figure
out if it's worth it to relocate.

Well, if the pool was heated, would it matter...but then, I guess you can just stay in the jacuzzi.

Per a travel weather prediction website we have found fairly accurate the January weather seems to be 66-68 to 78-80 on average. Creeps up a degree in Feb as January is the coldest month. We are going in January and plan to use the sun, jacuzzi, generous pours of alcohol and human warmth to pull us through. We humans must huddle together to survive the winter! Just don't huddle without a condom people...make your Mom proud. :bj
Have a great day! Hope to see you in the future.

We have been a few times over New Years and you don't spend as much time in the water as it is a little chilly but it is fairly warm. Most days were 79-82. You still need sunscreen and get hot laying out. You just don't have to spend as much time in the pool or ocean to cool off. The jacuzzi is perfect that time of year and laying on the jacuzzi beds are perfect instead of the frying pans like in July. Also it gets darker much earlier. I love this time of year in Mex. The evenings are still quite muggy too. The thing about this part of the world is that it only fluctuates about 10 degrees throughout the course of a year.

We've been to Cancun in December and January and didn't need a sweater. It was still very comfortable into the late night hours. We'll be there in 3 weeks! Can't wait.

Isn't it mostly always nice in Cancun? I've been in Jan...great weather, and in the summer, hot but nice. Just seems like a fun, pleasant location?

I have to say that I found this week's weather to be perfect, except for Tuesday, which was mostly a rainout :(

But temp wise it was 80/82 during the daytime, and 90percent sunny, and a very comfortable low 70s during the evenings (even for ladies in lingerie). :)

We are thinking of coming down in either September or October. Any recommendations regarding better weather ? As long as it's not a hurricane, what do you do on a rainy day (besides the obvious) ?

We've been three times in October, each for two weeks, and found it hot during the day (around 30C/85F) and warm enough at night (around 24C/75F) to be outdoors naked. But we are from cold UK! There have been some major thunderstorms, but fortunately only at night. Though the rain from these does cool the pool down.

In the 42 nights we've been there, it only rained once or twice during the day, and then only for a couple of hours. We spent the time in the restaurants having great conversations with all sorts of interesting people. If it rains in the jacuzzi everybody just gets close together under the thatched roof by the bar!

The entertainment people have contingency plans for prolonged rain - but we've never seen them in action. Interestingly, it often looked to be raining over Cancun (big black clouds) when it was still dry at Pearl in Puerto Morelos.

My take is that you see many sweaters there during the summer months. Screamers on the other hand all year long. Arriving in 5 days. Hope that fact hasn't changed!
