Advice please on the best way to book from Canada. There are a few websites that do the package thing but I've read a lot about booking directly with the resort and doing your flights seperate but that is mostly from the USA folks? This will be our first trip and we are very excited. Nothing would make it better than to get a deal at the same time..... :D

I think we have taken advantage of booking DRM as an all inclusive package with Air Canada once.

We book airfare and hotel separately now.

Most times we can find a sale on air fare - depending on the time of year - and have points rewards cards with various airlines.

Most recently we have been travelling to Mexico doing the hop, skip and jump (overnighting in some USA city) method and have now decided we no longer enjoy that aspect of travel.

Now we are planning to book the last direct (or one stop) flights to Cancun from here - yeah,it's a long flight - but it saves the hassle of the over nighting.

So, in a nut shell - we book hotel and airfare separately - and have taken advantage of the '4th night free' promo the resort offers when booking directly through them and we have the flexibility of booking the flights for the dates we require.

Hope this helps.
