We're signed up for Rome-Athen 2021, and happy to share our perspective. We don't have as much experience with Desire as many others on this forum, but we were on the inaugural Desire cruise from Venice in 2017, and went to DRM last year. So we can compare only those two experiences. We really liked many things about the cruise, including the food. We thought the Azamara Quest cuisine was fantastic and seemed (to us) well above the quality of DRM food. The theme nights and the parties were fun at both. Just like at DRM, the pool parties on the boat started pretty "chill" in the early afternoon. But as the afternoon progressed, the music volume and the energy level gradually increased.

We also liked that the cruise has roughly twice as many people as DRM (when DRM is fully occupied, which it wasn't when we were there). But the Azamara Quest has WAY less people than a big cruise like the Bliss cruises. So for us, it was about the right number of people.

But the thing we loved best about the cruise is that the ports of call were EPIC!! Venice, Dubrovnik, Split and Slovenia were unbelievable. The same seems to be true of the Rome-Athens cruise. Rome, Sorrento, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens? Spectacular!! It's true you only get to spend 10-12 hours in each city, but we made the most of every stop on the 2017 cruise.

So overall, we think of the Desire cruises as a way to see epic places, and the nudity/naughtiness/party are just a bonus. Whereas with the Desire resorts (and maybe the Bliss cruises), the nudity and playing are first and foremost? Not sure, as again our experiences are limited.

We'd love to hear from any of our fellow Rome-Athens cruisers, even though we're about 20 months away. Lol!!!

We are booked on the Desire Rome-Athens cruise in 2021 also.

We've been on the Azamara lines with two other lifestyle cruises and love the ship size with 350 cabins. We've been on a number of the Bliss and Couples Cruises on the RC and Celebrity lines. The larger ships like the Independence of the Seas will have 4200 people on board so it can be difficult finding specific people unless you have a cabin number. We are booked on the Oasis Bliss cruise for 2021 and that will be the largest one yet with around 5600 passengers on board.

We are avid Desire resort guests going 2-3 times a year so we are looking forward to the Desire cruise although we know not to expect quite the same Desire experience as the resort. Still, the ports, venue and sexy vibes will make it well worth it.

We plan to arrive a week early to spend more time in Italy again like we have on other trips. We generally rent a villa and car to enjoy the local countryside and wines.

Let us know if you are going as well!

We are also booked on the Rome-Athens cruise.
We took the Nice-Barcelona Desire cruise in September this past year and when we returned- wife said book another trip. We have never been to Greece and looking forward to it. We have been to DP four times and returning again this May, but this was our first on a Desire Cruise. Like LandDw2 said, the epic ports were all classic and non forgettable. The Azamara is a smaller cruise ship but very enjoyable and the people you meet was just as personable and outgoing as a Desire resort. Only item we would like them to change is the music in the main lounge after the performances. Its the same every night (bump-Bump) and with in 20 minutes the place is mostly empty. If you book, make sure you get the premium liquor package- that definitely pays for itself.
We also go a week earlier to get into that "vacation Mode" and Rome will be easer for us to fly into this time.

Hope to meet You their!
