After three years going to the Pearl, we decided on this cruise. Never been to this area before or a c/o cruise, looking forward to both and of course the great time on the ship. We will go to visit Italy a week prior to explore the Amalfi coast.
REMEMBER: It's not the size of the boat nor the motion in the ocean, it's whether or not the captain can stay in port long enough for all the passengers to get off! :US

We have been on 9 lifestyle cruises and 3 more booked into 2020. The ship size varies from the smaller ships (Azamara lines that Desire uses) to the mega ships like the Independence of the Seas. The Independence had over 4200 lifestylers on board this recent cruise. The Azamara ships have about 350 cabins for ~700 lifestylers. We were on the Azamara Quest last summer on a lifestyle cruise (not Desire) from Rome to Barcelona. The cruise was nice but, like the others have said, it is not the same as a lifestyle resort experience (Members at Desire, so frequent trips for us). The pool is NOT clothing optional during days at port and most of the Desire cruises are in a port each day. So you have pretty much a vanilla cruise experience during the day unless you do a clothing optional excursion if they are offered at that port.

The playroom was not staffed well on our cruise and you pretty much had to fend for yourselves there. The larger cruise playrooms have staff that maintain the rooms during use.

The Desire cruises are appealing for the destinations and night time activity potential. You just have to weigh the cost for the value received and decide if that works for you. We do a mix of the Caribbean lifestyle cruises and weeks at Desire. YMMV....

We are Michelle and Joe from South Florida. We frequent Club Trapeze and Love to travel to Desire Rm at least once per year ( booked for May 4 - 9 2019 for Cinco-de-Mayo) . Living in South Florida and being so close to Port Everglades, We get to cruise often. With that said, We also enjoy European cruising as well, BUT this will be our first Desire cruise and we are very excited about it. I see everyone is calling this a "Monte Carlo" cruise, but I only see Nice to Barcelona. Are we missing something?
I also read some mixed opinions about this cruise line and the experience. We are very excited about the Itinerary and look forward to a party in Ibiza Spain.

This cruise was originally supposed to leave from Monte Carlo. They had some problems with availability at the Monte Carlo port so it was changed to Nice. Maybe some people don't know that yet. ???
We look forward to meeting you on the ship!

We travelled for our first cruise with this operator in 2015. That was a lifestyle cruise organised by SDC. The ship is relatively small if you are used to the larger cruise ships. But all the same we had a great time. We felt the smaller size gave a more intimate atmosphere and you could 'bump' into folks in a way you might not on bigger boats. It was promoted as a naked cruise but you could not be naked in port. Accommodation was fine and various dining options also gave plenty of choice.
Nightlife was good - we have also enjoyed Desire RM, so the same pattern would apply - dinner then bar then disco but here there is entertainment. Pool area is lively during the day and plenty to do - spa and gym etc.
Not we felt the most luxurious but comfortable and it's what you make it.
PM if there is anything else we can help with.

You should have had an emil re the change of port.

this will be our first LS cruise and boy are we hanging out for this one. We are Desire Pearl addicts with somewhere north of 15 trips over the last few years so really looking forward to this vaca. We are doing a drive through Tuscany and along the coast prior to sailing so will be well "settled" by the time we take advantage of the meet and greet on Friday night.

Hello
We just booked our trip to the Desire Mediterranean Cruise for Sep 2019.
Also, any reviews, thoughts, experiences you can share? It'd be nice to begin knowing some of the couples that will be attending.

Cheers

Booked with a few other couples. We are going for the total experience. Zero chance we won't have a good time. Life is to short. Say hello before you go. :-)

We are booked for the cruise and are very excited! Can't wait!!! I have a couple of questions and would like to get your thoughts. We received information about the cruise and was wondering if you think any of the drink packages are worth the money? We weren't sure how much time we would be on board. I guess some of the packsges include shore excursions as well and not sure about those either?
We have been to Desire Pearl twice (and love it) - should we expect the theme nights to be similar to Pearl meaning the same type of attire or lack thereof? Thanks and looking forward to seeing everyone there.
