Vaccines?

I saw my doctor and he recommended that we get our hepatitis and malaria shots before going to Cancun... I felt a bit stupid because we have been there many times, and never got the vaccines before... Did anybody here get these shots before leaving?

We have been vacationing on the Yucatan for over 10 years and have never considered getting the shots.

The most common ailments that occur to tourists(in order of occurrence) are:
- sunburn
- slips & falls sometimes with twisted ankles or broken bones(usually a lot of alcohol is involved)
- stomach disorders(usually a lot of alcohol is involved and a change in the types of food being eaten)
- falls from hotel balconies(usually a lot of alcohol is involved)
